What to expect
Piazza del Campo
After a short trek on foot that will make us understand where the municipal meetings took place before the construction of Palazzo Pubblico, we will move towards the suggestive Piazza del Campo, the civic heart of the city. It is difficult to resist the charm of the square and the elegant silhouette of the Town Hall.
Palazzo Pubblico and Museo Civico
The tour continues inside the Palace with a visit to the Civic Museum. Here everything speaks of patriotism (the first room dedicated to the wars of Independence), the exaltation of the splendor of Siena, the ideals at the basis of the "good government" of the Nine. The culmination and synthesis of the visit at the same time will be the frescoes by Ambrogio Lorenzetti, "Allegory of Good and Bad Government", a perpetual warning for governments and citizens of all ages. "Panoramic" closure with a view of the Val di Montone, from the upper loggia!
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
