The European collection of Arts, by such prominent Authors as Rembrandt, Rubens, Monet, Degas, Gainsborough, Rodin impressed me the most, though the rest of the Collection is very impressive too.

This private tour was absolutely fantastic! Our tour guide Antonio was marvelous. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative and walked us through the museum and grounds. He was a delight to be around and we are so grateful he was our tour guide. You must book this tour as it is a must see in Lisbon.

Our 2-hour guided tour was fantastic. From the initial overview all the way through it was simply perfect. Sufficient time to see all with questions answered and more history than we ever expected. So very glad we did this tour with a local!

I was stood up for this very expensive skip the line with ticket tour. The tour operator, With Locals, never showed. After I texted, called and left a message they finally responded. They could not find a substitute guide. This was the second time in Portugal that we were stood up by WITH LOCALS. I received a message thAT I will receive a refund IN THE FUTURE but I was unable to enter the museum on our last day and our half day was ruined.TripAdvisor would not answer phone.

Was suppose to go go a tour with David. Great recommendations on the site Withlocals. He canceled on us the night before Without any explanation. Avoid this guy!

Our guide, Antonio, was extremely generous with his time and very knowledgeable. His input was perfect—he gave us an understanding of the amazing gardens, as well as the museum and its art, while giving us time to experience it for ourselves. It was a perfect balance.

Our tour was supposed to be a museum tour but it turned out that the museum was closed. Diolo, being the skilled tour guide and beatboxer that he is, thought quickly, improved and offered us options on what we could do as an alternative. He took us on a tour around Lisbon that gave us some of the old and new sights that showed us what makes Lisbon the vibrant city that it is. Occasionally displaying his hype beatboxing skills, Diolo’s love for Lisbon and exuberant energy made our detour one of a kind! He has a special mix of knowledge, humour, respect, and creative energy that made this detour a memorable one. Thank you Diolo! (August 2019)

Lisbon is a dream and the Gulbenkian is its real jewel of a cultural institution. You can see great art and one of the most wonderful collections of Islamic arts—Persian carpets to savour and Ottoman ceramics to delight. Stroll in the gardens; eat a delightful simple meal, Portuguese style in the outdoor terrace; even shop for souvenirs. Can’t wait to be freed to go back to Lisbon and to see my old friends in the display cases in the museum!
