Your Itinerary

Santa Fe Plaza

You will see the heart of Santa Fe, where the city began, while you gather a brief intro history.

The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi

As we stroll to our first stop, we will see the Basilica built in 1866.

Palace of the Governors

During our intro talk we will be in the plaza, directly in front of the Palace of the Governors, the oldest public building in the US.

Loretto Chapel

We will stop and tell the story of the Miraculous Staircase build in 1888 inside the Loretto Chapel. We do not enter the Chapel but do encourage entry after our tour to spend significant time in the museum. There is a $5 entry fee to the Chapel.

San Miguel Chapel

The oldest church structure in the US, build in 1610, by hand with a group of friars and local indigenous people. We do not enter the San Miguel Mission but recommend that you revisit after the tour ends. There is a small entry fee into the Mission and the museum of $4.

New Mexico State Capitol (Roundhouse)

We will catch a glimpse of the "Roundhouse" which is the Capital building of New Mexico. You will learn a bit about the architecture and the reason the structure was build round.

Informative guide, he did a great job of telling the backstories to all of the foods we had and places we saw. Good food. Margaritas were awesome.

They cancelled the day prior and at that point I could no longer book any other food tour which was very disappointing.

This is the second time we have done this tour. Jose was our food and historical guide. Food was great and conversation even better.

Good winds, everything else was so-so. The fried green tomatoes were a particular disappointment. All in all, I'd be willing to go there, but I wouldn't seek it out.

This tour was so much fun! It was really interesting to learn about the differences between Mexican and New Mexican foods. Our guide, Jose, was super knowledgeable and has such a fun personality! This tour made our time in Sante Fe special. Thanks Food Tour New Mexico!

Tour was lots of fun. There were 8 of us so perfect amount to get to know each other a bit and hear the whole time. All the food was wonderful and we even got to try a green chile cheeseburger. Drinks were plentiful as well, strong margaritas! Jose was the best tour guide, very knowledgeable, friendly and made it interactive. Afterward he even texted recipes for red chile and his list of recommendations for things to go. Great way to spend an afternoon.

We had a wonderful time with our guide Peter. The food we had was delicious, and we enjoyed trying all of the different restaurants. The service at each restaurant was fabulous. Our guide also facilitated the tour so that we all mingled and got to know our fellow tour guests. I would do it again!
