Jackson Square

This authentic mode of transportation will help you time-travel back to the 1700s and 1800s when death and disease were rampant due to devastating fires, floods, murders, and more! Being that there are only 8-passengers on-board the carriage, the mule-drawn adventure is more intimate and unforgettable. The carriage-driving tour guides are top-rated licensed guides who have been sending chills down spines for over 75 years. Meet and board at the carriage stand located at 700 Decatur Street. As your carriage departs from Jackson Square, your driver/guide will regale you with stories of the city's founding as the carriage passes through the historic French Quarter street.

French Quarter

Travel past landmarks such as Saint Louis Cathedral, Jackson Square, Napoleon House, and more as the carriage wind through New Orleans' oldest neighborhood, the French Quarter. Expect stories that are both historical, entertaining and appropriate for all visitors. It's important to understand the history so that you can understand the spirits that haunt the buildings. New Orleans is considered to be the most haunted city in America. Countless tragedies have happened right in the French Quarter, including devastating floods and fires killing thousands, contagious epidemics resulting in thousands of deaths, and other odd occurrences like weird human torture experiments, medical experiments, love lost, and more. These stories have been documented in police records and history books, and some can be quite alarming! You'll learn about the stories, then about how the "spirits" are letting people know that they are still very present! Do you have goosebumps yet?

Lucas did a good job of including all the folks in the tour. He was funny and a good storyteller. Praline did a good job too!

We had awesome time. I believe the driver was either Damien or Nathan. I just had cowboy stick in my head. He did an amazing job during our tour no doubt I would recommend him, the other guides, and the this tour for sure. Trish MO

I was excited for this tour but was thoroughly disappointed. I expected a haunted tour but all we really learned about was our tour operator. Amy was and is a very nice person but I didn’t pay $120.00 to learn about her, her life and travels and the majority of the tour being about her, where she likes to eat, live and go in NOLA. She took us off the normal tour route out of the French Quarter, by a lovely power station and homeless people. To be fair she did tell us about Madame LaLaurie and a butcher who killed his wife, but literally that was the only “haunted” content we received. I was going to give the tour company an earful but they were gone when we got back an hour later.

Our guide, Matt, has clearly done this tour a million times he knows the stories and script by heart and was “doing his job” he was monotone and so boring. He couldn’t get us out of that carriage fast enough. He did perk up to let us know we could tip him.

We got held up at our restaurant while paying our tab, and the guys were very kind to wait a few extra minutes for us

KJ is the best tour guide. You MUST have him! Great stories I can't wait to research. Some really horrifying stories that bring the historic quarter alive (or dead).

The tour was fun and we enjoyed Praline, the mule pulling our carriage. Entertaining stories and enjoyable ride through parts of the French Quarter.
