A truly wonderful experience. I learnt a lot about traditional bush medicines of the area. If you're going to do a tour of the Daintree/Julaymba - be guided by someone who's family have been the traditional custodians of the land for tens of thousands of years. Doesn't get much better than that.

Oh my goodness- had very low expectations doing a "group" tour. It was incredible, but only because we had an amazing guide- Aaron. If you do this tour, you MUST ask for him. He was so fun and knowledgeable. We had an incredible day seeing things through his eyes. We tasted green ants, a plant that cures cancer, some other plants that also cured things...he was just a blast. Our group was fun, too, so that helped, but Aaron made it the fabulous tour that it was.

Had the best time with eagle eyes Aaron, we would not have had the same experience if we drove ourselves. Aaron was an awesome guide and it was like a good mate showing you around his hometown. He spotted a family of cassowaries 200m up a side road while driving in the rain, tiny stick insects that smelt like peppermint, ants that cure a cold, leaves that turn into soap, took us to the best Daintree icecream place.. he even spotted a Boyd’s forest dragon hanging on a tree. We had such a good time. I would highly recommend choosing this tour over any other Daintree tour because Aaron honestly made our day, we didn’t feel like we were on a strict itinerary more like a really great day out with a local legend. We will definitely be back to do the other tour next time.

The tour was a real treat. Aaron, our guide, was exceptional - so original, authentic, and informative.

The booking process and communication with Walkabout Cultural Adventures was very easy. We were part of a small group of 8 collected from our hotel. Our guide, for the day was Aaron, who was absolutely fantastic. He was a fountain of knowledge about the Daintree Forest. We marvelled as he encouraged us to eat green ants, as he magically made shampoo from leaves and identified various birds and plant life during the day. The highlight was when he spotted a young cassowary, just as we had given up hope of seeing one in the wild. Aaron made the day very special and left us with many happy memories of our time in Daintree.

An excellent immersion in indigenous local knowledge of the Daintree Rain Forest. Our guide Aaron shared his incredible local knowhow on plants and their medicinal properties. To see the Rain Forest through the eyes of a local First Nations person was a true privilege. Aaron showed us and allowed us try and taste the wonderful bounty of the Rain Forest while warning is of things not to touch.

Aaron’s special understanding of the Daintree, and his generosity meant that we were able to see and experience the animals and plants of the rainforest in a way we would never find on our own. He shared the medicinal properties of so many of the plants and knew exactly where to spot the animals in the wild. Try the fruits. Some are yum, some are eek! But all are likely to be things you’ve never experienced before. The experience was a true privilege. Thank you!

We had a great tour with Aaron. It ended up just being us, so basically a private tour. We stopped all sorts of places and learned all sorts of interesting things. We did several hikes, one to a woman’s site and another in the rainforest. We had a great lunch with some local exotic fruit. Really great.

We are three friends who joined the Ngana Kulkinga Dungay tour. It was fantastic. Aaron was our guide; a super friendly and enthusiastic, indigenous man born and raised in the rainforest area. Aaron taught us about his native medicine its healing properties and purposes. It was a privilege to have him as our guide and to learn about indigenous culture which is so rich and full of wisdom and knowledge. This tour was exactly what we were looking for and we were so pleased with the experience. Thank you Walkabout and Aaron for the education and for sharing with us your land.

Aaron was exceptionally welcoming and worked hard to give us the best experience due to our time constraints. Even after growing up in Australia, i was astonished by the amount of native plants at our doorstep that can be used for medicinal and consumption purposes. Aarons knowledge of the area and its history provided such unique experience and i would highly recommend it for all ages.
