Your Itinerary

Campanario

Heading towards our bumpy roads in Trompica where we will be driving to the top of the valley of Ribeira Brava, over 1000 meters above the sea. Might have the chance to see wild animals such as buzzards (Buteo buteo harterti), kestrels ( Falco Tinnunculus Canariensis) and cows. The travel time from Funchal to Campanario is approximately 30 minutes

Ribeira Brava

(Pass by)

In regards of views, we will be looking directly to the plateau around 1400 meters above the sea level, the mountain of encumeada ( the border in between the south and the north coast of Madeira). The travel time from Campanario to Ribeira Brava is approximately 20 minutes.

Sao Vicente

(Pass by)

Head to the north coast ( São Vicente) full of vineyards, mountains and green vegetation. In São Vicente we will be driving always with sea view always by our side, and historical information about the old roads in between São Vicente - Porto Moniz will be given (by many considered the most dangerous roads ever used in Madeira). The travel time from Ribeira Brava to São Vicente is approximately 20 minutes

Miradouro do Veu da Noiva

Stoping in Véu da Noiva viewpoint at around 12:00pm, explaining more about the old roads and look at the Véu da Noiva waterfall, as well as, perhaps have a short coffee break in the souvenir shop. (a good stop to bring something sweet and memorable to family or friends). The travel time from São VIcente to Véu da Noiva is approximately 20 minutes

Seixal

You will have the pleasure to visit the beach of Seixal (a very small village with around 580 people living) for many people this beach will remind of Hawai due to the natural black sand, in result of erosion of the basalt rock and because of the incredible green mountain view along the coast. The travel time from São Vicente to Véu da Noiva is approximately 20 minutes

Porto Moniz

Two hours stop in Porto Moniz (a fisherman villlage) specialized in the past on the hunt of whales. In this stop guests will freely manage their time in between swimming on the volcanic pools and lunch. The travel time from Seixal to Porto Moniz is approximately 20 minutes. We depart from Porto Moniz around 14:45h

Posto Florestal Fanal

Break time contemplate and relax on the most beautiful landscape in the whole island. A mystical forest protected by UNESCO and world heritage since 1998. In this forest we will see trees older than six centuries, the very well known stink laurel tree, endemic of Madeira. The travel time from Porto Moniz to Fanal Forest is approximately 30 minutes.

Ponta Do Sol

Down the mountains towards the sea. Finishing the tour having a sun bath on the bay of ponta do sol, the most sunny city in Madeira. The travel time from point a to point b is approximately 30 minutes, arriving around 16:00h.

Cabo Girao

We start with a visit to Cabo girão skywalker (589 meters) above the sea level with an amazing view over the sea and over fajã do Cabo girão, this is the best place to take pictures feeling like flying over the cliff, the best way to never forget your holidays or that you are afraid of heights. The travel time from Ponta do Sol toCabo Girao is approximately 20 minutes. We finish around 17:00h.

We did not go on the Jeep tour.. When they arrived the vehicle had six people in it, putting one of us having to sit in the middle…. 6’2” and my wife is 6’1”. We couldn’t spend a full day ridding like that…. I don’t feel like the host was transparent is that part of the description, otherwise, we would not have booked such a tour. The Jeep Tour don’t offer the smaller vehicle pictured, only the Landrover with bench seating and 8 people packed into it I ask for a full refund. Kindly, Steven Mark Hailey

Paulo was an amazing tour guide. He really took the time to get to know everyone and engaged in interesting conversations. His driving was excellent and safe. He would tell us about Madeira’s history along the way and gave us ample time at each stop. This tour is definitely worth it, we got to see so much of Madeira in one day.

Thoroughly enjoyable trip. Guide was very friendly and knowledgable as well as being fun….he knew his stuff. Trips along various sections of “old road” were scarey at times but that added to the enjoyment. Well worth going!!!

It's hard to find something in this world now that is worth the money but I'm pleased to say this trip is. It gives an extensive view of the island and with Ricardo at the helm it was never boring, he was engaging and humourous and kept us all interested the whole trip even though we had different nationality on board at the same time which is no mean feat with language barriers etc. so if you want the real deal take this trip

We can’t say enough good things about our tour and our guide, Renato. The trip was beyond our expectations - besides being an amazing driver on and off the road (especially on the wild “old road” routes) he was full of great information, enthusiasm and lots of fun to be with. The tour gave us a wonderful overview of the island and went places we never would have been able to go on our own. We highly recommend!

Our family had an absolute blast on a Jeep tour with Paixão and Pita in Madeira! From the get-go, it was clear this day would be special. Paixão and Pita's enthusiasm for their island was contagious, making every moment memorable. We had 2 full day trip with Paulo and it was amazing. He’s very well prepared about the history, economy, fun and all about Madeira. He was super friendly and patient - I mean we’ve been 9 of us in my family with 4 kids so…it’s not an easy trip to make everyone happy but he could manage it very well!! We spent 5 days in Madeira but far these 2 days Jeep-trip with him were the most unforgettable experience out if all. I did 3 different trips, one with Paulo, Ricardo and Renato. Each trip was unique and special in their own way. I had the best experience leaving about Madeira from the people who were born and raised here. It was very different than most tours. It was tailored to be more of a personal connection with people and learning about the country and history. It wasn't rushed and they all really took the time to make sure we had a meaningful experience. I can't wait to go back to Madeira to enjoy it some more.

I don't have anything but good words for the trip with The Big Adventure Madeira. We went to the most beautiful places and learned the traditions and culture of this amazing island right from the core, the locals. Paulo made the whole experience worth even more! He was fun, attentive, with a lot of knowledge and was engaging and checking on us constantly. He brought us to remote places where other people don't reach and the off roads were very fun. I would definitely come back with them for a second round!! My best!!
