This is a cool place, but the people compaing it to Wunderland need to get a grip. Wunderland was built by a team of engineers and cost millions. This was built by one person.

Last time I visited Northlandz I was ten, and twenty years later it absolutely holds up to the memories! It is both impressive and deeply and charmingly bizarre. The amount of labour that has gone into building (and, one presumes, maintaining) it is staggering. Visit if you love to see people doing things with their whole chests, or if you like to see tiny people living tiny lives, or if you just really like trains!

We visited on a Thursday, they were barely opened… had to search for an employee. It’s expensive vs the layouts we visited in Strasburg, but huge. Overall, the place is impressive, it goes on and on, there are bridges everywhere! A lot of trains were not running, but clearly it was a slow day. The whole thing needed some TLC, a bunch of broken areas and dusty. The landscaping needs a refresh. We were impressed with size, disappointed by condition, could really see the awesomeness of the idea. Go see it, there is plenty to enjoy even if it needs work. We would recommend a big refresh just to where everything works ( lots of buttons broken), dust the place and eliminate all the old toys around gathering dust and distracting from the train experience.

We stopped by this holder of the Guinness World Record for largest model train display on a road trip to New England. It did not disappoint, especially for my train-obsessed son. We loved the fine detail, and each gallery had a story to tell. The staff handed our kids a treasure hunt map, which occupied them for at least an hour and a half before we had to get going. There was an outdoor train ride that we couldn't experience due to timing and weather, but it looked very fun as well. I'm sure we'll stop by again in the future. Definitely one for the bucket list for those interested in quirky roadside attractions.

I took my 12 yr old son and spent 3 hours there. We marveled at what they have created! It is truly amazing. That being said the outdoor train was not running yet and there was really not a whole lot to do other than look at the trains. Still worth the trip and price of admission. A must for any model train enthusiast.

I'll start by saying our four and seven-year-old boys absolutely love trains and had a blast here. This is definitely a great place to bring any child who enjoys trains or dolls for that matter as there is a large collection of dolls and figurines as well. The price of admission is almost double what it should be which is disappointing, but given this is realistically a once-and-done type experience we still found value despite the price gouging. The people here definitely care about the facility however it felt like their focus was perhaps on maintaining certain train runs that a visitor would never know the difference about while letting things slip that would make a big difference to a first-time visitor. For example, several of the push buttons for the kids were not working and a lot of the small touches that would be easy to add ( like wooden character or something to look at on the train ride outside) are missing. We were there in March and the Christmas wreaths were still on the front and back of the train. Overall again our children found this place wonderful but even for our boys who love trains it's a very long walk-through and many of the same things over and over again. There is a play area right at the end, really wish it could be closer to the midpoint to give the kids a break. You start and end at the gift shop and there are several items that are priced across all price points depending on what you're looking for, hundreds of dollars for certain train sets and a couple bucks for souvenir trains that your kids can take home.

Nice place but needed some upkeep. Scenery was great and it is very extensive however trains themselves were nothing special. If you love HO trains it is worth the visit.

Disappointing for the admission fee. Very worn needs some TLC. The last part of the exhibit was under construction. Not recommended for children under 3ft because they can't see over the exhibit walls. No hand sanitizer stations available either. The gift shop was the only focus that was updated as soon as you walked through the door . I am sure 25 years ago this was amazing.

Amazing. If you have toddlers it is worth the day trip!! They have a play area and the set up is unbelievable. Your kids will love this.

Spent about 2.5 hours there today with the wife and three kids. It was an unusual experience to say the least. There's so much more to it than one would imagine and it's impossible not to be amazed by the creativity, art, sophistication, and passion. There are more than 70 trains running on more than 8 miles of track! Many of the exhibits stretch for 2-4 rooms worth of space and span multiple stories. The complexity grows as you ascend and the bridges become more and more sophisticated. Truly an interesting experience. The staff are lovely to speak with and interact with. Bottom line - it's an experience unlike any other.
