Wonderful tour. Tom was so knowledgeable about the history he made the building and inhabitants come to life. I will definitely book again when I’m here with other family members.

Tom was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the palace and Munich/Bavaria, and he had helpful physical references to keep track of the complicated history. The palace is gorgeous, but going with a historian really helps to understand the purpose of each room and building. We laughed and joked the whole time. Afterwards, he gave us some great recommendations for local food. He really cares about making sure you have the best experience.

My husband and I really enjoyed our private tour with Tom. He’s warm, personable, fun and very knowledgeable. His tour is filled with interesting facts and history, as well as entertaining stories about several of the palace inhabitants. The palace and its gardens are a must see when visiting Munich, and if you can afford the luxury of a personal guide to show you around, Tom is your guy!

If you are into palaces and History than it is worth visiting the castle however the grounds are free to walk around and are breathtaking- there are other options for a fee to see the botanical gardens etc. I can imagine this place to be even more prettier in the summer with their fountains . I did pay to go in the castle but ideally for me the grounds would have sufficed as I had been to other castles .

Highly enjoyable visit to that beautiful palace and, if the weather permits, a lengthy walk in the gardens. Wonderful!

My son and I had an outstanding experience visiting Nymphenburg Place and Gardens with Tom Mills. Tom is delightful and remarkably knowledgeable. He was able to bring the history of Bavaria, this unique palace, and its royal family to life for us, and we came away with a much greater understanding of how this palace and its extensive gardens and additional structures functioned. Without Tom, the visit would have been substantially less informative. I highly recommend Tom as a guide.

We did the private tour of Nymphenburg Palace and gardens with Tom and it was fantastic! We would highly recommend taking this tour with Tom. He is very knowledgeable on all historical facts related to Nyphhenburg and had a terrific sense of humour. Our 4 hours passed by quickly and Tom was very accommodating of any questions. The tour of the palace grounds was a highlight and also a relaxing and pleasurable way to enjoy this historical tour. We highly recommend this tour with Tom!

Great tour with Tom, who had a great deal of knowledge about the history of Germany. He imparted the history with factual information and with some humor and some interesting personal information of these historic people . Tom also gave us some general information about Munic which was above and beyond the tours outline. The tour was conducted in a professional manor , and was conducted at a considerate pace based upon our age and the rather hot temperature .

This was an incredible tour. Our guide, Tom, was very knowledge and made it feel like we were walking around the grounds with an old friend instead of a hired guide. Tom has been in Munich for over a decade but is originally from the UK so there was no language barrier or miscommunication about anything during our visit. Tom was on time, met us in the train station, and already had our tram and palace entry tickets procured. Better yet, Tom was exceptionally well prepare, as he carried with him a binder of visuals to help better explain the royal family and history of the place, and even had a small umbrella for my wife when we were briefly caught in the rain. With respect to the palace, although it is a hugh complex, only a small handful of rooms are about to be seen on the tour. The rooms you can see are opulent and with the trip, but if you're also touring the Residence palace in Munich much of what you'll see inside is similar to that palace. The garden grounds were very nice and I highly recommend taking advantage of the optional garden portion of the tour, which includes visits to four out-buildings that are mini-palaces as well as a nice stroll through much of the English-style garden. The bottom line is Tom is an excellent guys and I would absolutely book him as a guide for another tour.

This was a fantastic tour given by a knowledgeable and enjoyable tour guide. Tom made the history come alive, and helped make our visit to Munich spectacular. My wife and I heartily recommend him.
