This was fun, but it made me sad! However we should always learn about our history so we can learn and grow!

Slave quarters and historical background. The film in the theater about sugar cane informative. Beautiful setting with the oak trees.

What to expect: if you don’t go on the airboat ride and just take the Oak Alley plantation tour, you will remain on the bus an hour extra to drop off airboat people before you turn back to New Orleans. This was not mentioned in what to expect.

Excellent from hotel pickup to drop off. Driver Gary was a Katrina survivor and told us his story. Plantation was incredible.

Almost missed the trip since the email told us we would be picked up on the opposite side of the hotel. We’d have never seen the bus if hotel employee hadn’t said asked us who we were waiting on. The plantation itself was beautiful and interesting but the guided part was only 30min and his cajun accent was so heavy my wife and I only understood about 1/2 of what was said. Lastly, afterwards they had others doing additional excursion on the same bus so instead of going straight back, we had to go drop them off (added 30-40min to the ride back that we were not planning on.

Hotel pickup was convenient. Travel to the plantation was enjoyable with a personable driver. The plantation tour was informative.

Oak Alley is wonderful and many things to do and see, but with this tour, had only about 2 hours to see everything. We spent time picking up others for tour and changing buses. More than half of the tour group was doing the Swamp tour and we had to drop them off for that. Did not have enough time to walk the entire plantation or do the extra tours on the plantation. Would suggest finding a tour that only does Oak Alley so that enough time can be spent there and you can see everything. Our tour said only Oak Alley, but ending up with people for the Swamp tour too.

Oak alley plantation was georgeous! It definitely worths a visit. We had two problems with the tour. We were on time waiting for the bus, but they didn’t explain that we had to stay on the sidewalk (we were at the hotel lobby). They left, and we had to call them back. Inside the bus, the driver spoke all the time, obviously looking for the tip. We would have appreciated some moments of peace and quietness

We took the transportation with the tour company. They picked us up right at our hotel. Pretty convenient and driver Gary was friendly. The ride to the plantation was cool, got to see the terrain of southern Louisiana, all marshes and swamps beyond the horizon. The plantation itself is also an enriching experience. Lots of history. Highly recommended.
