I have done many self paced audio tours before, and I rather like them. This one failed all over the place. The app was way too cumbersome and not user friendly. You had to make accounts/verify etc. all in a clunky 3rd party app. You couldn’t skip around easily on the map, you HAD to go in order, which is sort of lame in a city type place where there are multiple ways to get places. All that would be forgivable if the actual tour was good. It was emphatically not. There was so little information given about the sites, my family and I listened to it as a joke towards the end. One to two sentences maximum per stop. And less info than you would get if you read the first two sentences on Wikipedia. Save you money, and more importantly, your time.

Quick tour, felt informative, I'm glad I did it. At least three or four times, the walking directions referred to side streets and main streets. If you're not from Alexandria, it's not obvious which streets are the side ones and which ones are the main ones. (They all seem basically as big/wide as each other.) I found it confusing. It would be nice if the tour guide just referred to the streets by name.
