There were 8 of us in the van plus Ron our guide. He did a wonderful job explaining the history and the sights of Kirkwall Scotland. We visited neolithic sites dating back 5000 years as well some not so old sites including several with standing stones. I would heartily recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kirkwall Scotland.

Our tour guide gave us so much information on each stop, and along the way. It’s going to take me a few days to process everything I learned today. The history here is incredible 5000 years worth! And, he knew all of it. It was a phenomenal day. The timing was also perfect because we beat all the Tour buses to the locations. Nothing was too crowded and with his guidance we learned so much more than we would have seeing it on our own. 100% recommend. Doing it on your own you just see it, today we experienced it.

Donald was so much fun! We delighted in his history and commentary as we traveled the beautiful roads of Isle of Skye. Despite a little rain and fog, we were mesmerized by the magnificent scenery. We stopped for gorgeous views of Kilt Rock, gasped at beauty of the Quiraing. We did a quick hike at the Fairy Glen and finished at Dunvegan Castle. We stopped at MacKenzie's Bakery to pick up a sandwich to eat while on the trip before we met Donald and we all agreed they were delicious. We were so pleased we were able to go to special places the cruise buses could not. I highly recommend this tour and keep your eye out for deer Donald! Jan and friends

Our tour guide, Doogie, was both knowledgeable and engaging. And the sites we visited were absolutely amazing. The ruins were stunning and getting to see the excavations of real sites and even walk into a home and a stone circle to view the altar and firepit was a once in a lifetime experience. This is the perfect tour for people interested in the early history (<5000 years ago) in the area.

Great tour! Rachel was our guide and she was excellent : knowledgeable, witty and organized. We saw up close everything we wanted to experience, and returned to our cruise ship on time. Worth the price!
