Musee d'Orsay

The Musée d'Orsay is the second largest museum in the capital. You can find all the great masters of the 19th century there. Your lecturer will explain the opposition between classical and modern painters. The 19th saw the birth of many movements: Barbizon School, Realism, Orientalism and of course Impressionism. You will discover the great masters of these different currents: Corot, Courbet, Monet, Renoir, Degas etc…. Some do not belong to any school: Toulouse Lautrec, Gauguin Vincent Van Gogh. Discover their own genius. The former Gare d'Orsay also houses incredible statues by Rodin, Bartholdi and Carpeaux... A visit to the Musée d'Orsay is an incredible journey through the art of the 19th century.
