What to expect
Clava Cairns
Stones that date back around 4000 years (yes 4000) thats older than the pyramids... Touch the biggest one... thats what Claire did! I dare you :)
Culloden Battlefield
This is where series one ends... the Battle of Culloden, see the wee hoose Claire turns into a wee makeshift hospital then the lads use it to hide out. A solemn place, the last battle fought between Scots, Clans, English and even some Irish
Loch Ness
Here you will also get fabulous views of Loch Ness and have a chance to go down to it’s banks in the hope of seeing the ‘Water horse’ which so entranced Claire Randall (or Nessie, as she’s better known around these parts!)
Great Glen Distillery
At this stop we will be taking some time to taste this award winning Gin.Taking its name from the fault line that divides the Highlands, our distillery sources natural and local ingredients to give you a little taste of our majestic surroundings. Great Glen is both Scotland's newest and, proudly, its smallest craft distillery. Harnessing the elements of a wild place, this smooth, earthy gin is a love letter to nature.
Urquhart Castle
Urquhart Castle is probably one of the most photographed castles in Scotland, dating from around the 13th Century (But has settlement finds on the site dating back to prehistoric times.) It's position on the Loch provides the perfect backdrop for viewing and photographing Loch Ness (with or without the monster).
Beauly Priory
The Beautiful village of Beauly was where Claire and Jamie were heading to early in season one. Beauly Priory was a Valliscaulian monastic community located at "Insula de Achenbady", now Beauly, Inverness-shire. It was probably founded around 1230. It is not known for certain who the founder was, different sources giving Alexander II of Scotland or John Byset.
