It's a good half-hour drive from San Sebastián to the centre of Biarritz. This royal city has a fantastic market and Les Halles is our first stop to check out the fresh fish, cheese, bread, meats and veggies. We'll stop for cafe & pastries, OR oysters & wine, before wandering out into the city for some exploring. The coastline, coves and beaches of Biarritz are a must see as are the many shops, patisseries and bars.

Saint-Jean-de-Luz

We'll drive down from Biarritz to Saint Jean de Luz--an old Basque whaling town famous for inventing the macaroon pastry! We'll pop into the fascinating church for a quick look before heading to lunch for stellar French-Basque cuisine. Following that it's off to explore the winding streets of this adorable village, full of curious architecture, flowers & tasty delights! The coastline is also worthy of a walk--it's one of the most picturesque in all of the Basque Country!
