Entering the palace there are also works on the families that succeeded that of the Medici, from the Habsburgs Lorraine to the first King of Italy with annexed Royal apartments. In addition to the civic and political function of the rooms, the museum also offers a private collection of paintings, ancient statues, furniture and Florentine mosaics of inestimable beauty and historical importance, without neglecting the frescoes that decorate the ceilings and walls. The main attractions of the Palace are the Palatine Gallery, the Royal Apartments, the Gallery of Modern Art, the Treasury of the Grand Dukes and the Museum of Fashion and Costume.
