Your Itinerary

Porta Nuova

It is the oldest street of the city of Palermo. It was Phoenicians who traced the road that divided the city in two parts and connected the old port to the necropolis that was out Palermo.

Palermo Cathedral

The cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Palermo, located in Palermo, Sicily, southern Italy. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

Sfrigola Palermo

You will taste typical Italian cuisine, which is very popular throughout Italy.

Via Argenteria, 45

You’ll see some of the oldest places in the entire Europe.

La Vucciria

Vucciria market at the beginning was a butchers' area, where meat was cut and sold. In fact, the name Vucciria comes from the French word boucherie, that means butcher's shop. Then they also started to sell fish, fruit and vegetables.

Mercato di Ballaro

Ballarò is one of the oldest street markets in Palermo, one of the most lively and surely picturesque of Sicily. Its name, Ballarò indeed, recalls its ancient arab origins, as it is Sicily’s outdoor market tradition, which explains their similarity to Arab suqs.

Discesa dei Giudici, 48

Locally brewed Coffee will give you some energy back and make sure you’re ready for what comes next.

We very much enjoyed our walking Secret Food Tour with Emma. The food was varied and interesting, Emma explained the history, ingredients and cooking style of each dish in an informative and sometimes humorous manner. We would probably not include the drinks upgrade in future. Thank you Emma

Emma was gracious and very knowledgeable and we totally enjoyed our time with her tasting the food of Palermo. Definitely recommend!!!

This was my first food tour, and I wanted a way to experience Palermo and learn a bit about the city while also going through the markets which would be intimidating alone. My husband and I had along a 3 year old and a 6 month old which is always a crapshoot as well :) Our guide, Emma was fantastic! She knew enough about the history to sate my craving for a bit of culture, and guided us expertly through 8 stops. She was very accommodating of our kids, and made sure my 3 year old got to try something at each stop. We are not foodies, but the other people in the group were. All of us were loving the food provided! My favorite was the sausage with fennel. Emma, thank you so much for the tour and for your kindness. We heartily recommend this tour and would love to return to Palermo! The only tricky point for us is that after booking I was told a stroller would not work— I understand but it did mean we had to carry both children.

Italian food is world famous so the chance to visit Palermo and enjoy the Sicilian cuisine was a must. We met up with Emma Crociata on time at a small food outlet and so started our food exploration. The food was delicious. Emma’s knowledge of the food and the places history was excellent. She was a real local but she had international experience so her English was excellent. Overall a wonderful tour, one of the best we have experienced.

We’ve done a few secret food tours around Italy and US so knew they were excellent, and this was no exception. Emma was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the food stops were delicious - the street food pork belly and spring onion was a highlight! We will definitely be doing more in the future. Thank you!

I was exploring Palermo myself during the day as husband was working. Decided to do this tour on the first day to get my bearings, learn about the city, and try some food. Met up with some great people, and had some really great discussions during our many food stops. Would never have tried these foods myself! Everything was delicious!! Emma, our guide, was wonderful and helped bring us together as a group. This tour has made my trip to Palermo! Thank you to Emma and to the other people on the tour for such lovely company! Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this tour with Emma!

The food tour was fantastic. I loved the food, and thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the different spots and the variety of food. My husband and I found a few foods that we can't wait to make at home. I strongly suggest that people take this tour. You get great food, see amazing sites, and get a better understand about the culture of the market.

We've had a wonderful tour with Emma - highly recommended! We were a small group only and interested in specialties like Stigghiola and Pane ca Meusa. Emma made it possible that we could try them all.

My girlfriend and I did the tour together with Emma who did an excellent job at showing us the best eateries in Palermo. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the local food, the city and it's rich history. Her kind and friendly attitude added to the fantastic experience we had in this tour. We highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in tasting and learning about Sicilian food.
