There aren't words (in English anyway) to praise this tour adequately. I truly felt like we HAD time traveled. The stunning Parque contains well hidden neolithic carved stones, Roman ruins and mileposts, free roaming cattle, wild horses, tiny villages that haven't changed much in centuries and military outposts. Luis took the time to explain each of these to us as though we had been friends for years, leading to some wonderful discussions. And the lunch and picnic were a banquet of traditional foods and wines. This tour was the best part of our Portuguese vacation!!!

Inför vår resa till Braga hade vi beslutat att lägga en dag på att resa genom nationalparken Peneda-Gerês i nordost. Efter att ha kollat tänkbara arrangörer valde vi en privat tur med Luís Corrula och Welcomer Tours. Det gjorde vi helt rätt i, det här blev nämligen en mycket trevlig dag.
Luís hämtade oss tidigt vid vårt guesthouse i Braga med sin Nissan och vi körde genom stora delar av den vackra och kuperade parken. Han visade sevärdheter och ordnade med inte bara fika och lunch utan också med en utmärkt middag.
Under hela dagen underhölls vi av en lagom mängd information och med intressanta diskussioner om inte bara parken utom också om livet i Portugal. Vi rekommenderar varmt en tur med Luís Corrula och Welcomer Tours.

What to expect
This special day begins with the presence and understanding of the Roman Empire in this region and how one of the valleys located in the Park has so much history to reveal.
This healthy cultural journey in the Amarela mountain range will then include a visit to a small mountain village, with its typical Minho architecture, to which we will dedicate our curiosity and attention.
You will become aware, by observing the rural landscape, of how Man has lived with the presence of the wolf for centuries.
Before lunch in a restaurant with typical Minho cuisine, we will go back thousands of years to interpret “in situ” and in the Nature, Petroglyphs from different periods of our history.
We will continue to discover the heritage of the Amarela mountain range, this time embracing the medieval military architecture, in its important and centuries-old border context.
In your time travel, you will return to a pleasurable picnic that includes the typical dishes of the region.
