We had an amazing time tasting our way through the city with "Eating Rome" and got to try so many different dishes while seeing a few sights and learning the history of different areas within the city. We had two guides (one in training) and both were extremely funny and knowledgeable. In addition, one member of our party is severely allergic to beef and pork, and this was easily taken into consideration beforehand and accommodated through the tour. Our tour began with a stop at Ercoli Trastevere where we enjoyed a refreshing Aperol Spritz and individual charcuterie boards with local meats, buffalo mozzarella, etc. Our guides then took us to the Terrazza del Gianicolo for an overlook of Rome and a Prosecco toast. Next, we ventured to La Taverna del Ghetto in the Jewish ghetto area for some delicious fried fish appetizers before heading to Trattoria da Enzo al 29. The line to get into this place was all the way down the block; however, the hostess greeted us outside with their signature fried artichokes...so good!! For the main course, we were whisked away to Ristorante Angelina a Testaccio where we had local, homemade pasta (carbonara, cacio e pepe, or marinara w/ local bacon...not the kind you have a Sunday brunch) and tiramisu for dessert. As if that wasn't enough, we finished the evening off with dessert number two at Giolitti for some of the freshest gelato we've ever tasted made from 100% fresh ingredients. All in all, we would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get out and explore various foods while seeing a few sights along the way. 5 stars!!

Rish was a great guide. He was knowledgeable, personable and fun. We traveled to various areas and sampled many different foods and wines. Each location was unique and we learned about the cuisine and its history. This was the highlight of our trip!

Our tour driver Luca was extremely personable and very funny. He elevated this tour with his personality. The golf cart was clean and comfortable. This was a great way to sample several courses of food all over the city. The stop in the Jewish Ghetto had very poor parking and we had to circle around to find a spot and still had to walk a ways to the restaurant. Other than that a very nice experience. All stops the food was excellent.

The golf cart is a perfect way to see Rome with my 79-year old mom and my adult siblings. It was easy to find parking (squeeze in anywhere), felt safe on the roads with traffic all around us, and gave everyone a chance to rest between stops. Oh, and the food was mah-velous!

This was the best excursion to do on our arrival day. Lukka was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, he showed us the most amazing sights off the beaten track and took us some fantastic eateries in trasvetere.

How marvelous to go on a food tour in Rome via a golf cart! The moment our guide, Luca, introduced himself to us at the first restaurant on the 5:00 tour, we knew it was going to be an entertaining and delicious tour. Every stop provided tantalizing food and drink with very generous servings. An unforgettable highlight was toasting with Prosecco on the Gianicolo Hill Lookout Point. Our tour time of 5:00 in December meant traveling at night in Rome and since it was a cold night, Luca put down the side curtains on the golf cart. Our journey to each restaurant was cozy and comfortable. We all highly recommend this food tour for an amazing experience in Rome!

VIP Golf Cart Food Tour in Rome On Friday night we enjoyed one of the best “foodie” tours of the many we have taken over our years of travel. Other than the fact that we did the entire 4+ hour/8-stops in a bright orange golf cart(!), the quality of the food at each of the eight restaurants was superb! Our “meal” for the evening began with a delicious chicken pocket sandwich, followed by a ride to a scenic overlook of Rome, accompanied by a glass of Prosecco to further enjoy the view. Our next stop was at a local brew pub for a local brew and a traditional “fried rice ball” filled with rice, mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. Then it was on to another restaurant to enjoy another “traditional Roman” happy hour drink—the Spritzer, along with a wonderful Charcuterie tray. Our next stop was at “da Enzo” in the Jewish ghetto where we had a chance to enjoy fried artichokes—truly delicious! Our next stop was at Angelina (Roma) where we were each served a huge bowl of pasta in a delicious tomato and slow-cooked pork belly (bacon) sauce, accompanied by a superb Primitivo wine. As if this was not yet enough to put you into a deep food coma, we were then served a truly homemade Tiramisu. Unfortunately, my camera’s battery died before we got to the dessert courses). But wait, there’s more! Our final stop of the evening was at “the oldest gelato shop in Rome” where we had an opportunity to taste two scoops of Rome’s finest gelato. Overall, a most memorable evening! If you are planning a trip to Rome any time soon (and consider yourself a “foodie”), I would highly recommend this tour!! Our guide, Lucca, was excellent and very knowledgeable!! Off to board the ship later today!
