What a great tour this was! Lori I think was our tour guide (correct me if this is wrong) was absolutely amazing. She was very knowledgeable, spoke great English and to be honest, I could listen to her talk all day long! What a beautiful speaking voice she has. The whole family of 4, us parents and our 15 year old twins commented on it when we were finishing. She allowed us to get off and explore the ruins of the castle which are maintained and a lovely garden at the centre plus a stop at a beautiful church. 10 out 10 for this experience!👍🏻

We thoroughly enjoyed our city tour with João. He was very friendly and informative. This is our second time in Tavira and we learnt so much and saw so much more than we had seen before. An ideal way to sit back and relax and listen to the story of this beautiful city of Tavira.

Joel picked us up at our hotel. This was a last minute trip to Tavira since we were headed to lisbon. He took us all over the city and out to the salt flats which were fascinating. We even met the elderly owner and bought sea table salt at a small factory shop. Tavira is lovely and I will definitely return. Joel even gave us a city booklet. Tavira and Maria’s tuk tuk is a gem. Our first tuk tuk!

First TukTuk tour ever and we were hooked!! We went very end of March. I can’t recall his name, but boy, was he fabulous. Good English, spoke loud enough and gave us a wonderful comprehensive tour. He knows and loves this city! The details and history he shared were very interesting. Good sense of humor, too. As we bounced along the cobblestone roads, he would say Spa Massage. I think this was a two hour tour. We still talk about this experience. Guarantee you will have a good understanding of Tavira when done. Can be chilly depending on weather so dress accordingly. Great value!

The experience surpassed our expectations. It was a wonderful insight into a fascinating area. Our guide/driver was punctual, very informative and a delightful young lady, and we had some laughs. Amazing that our dog was allowed to go too. We were so grateful as so many places say no dogs. The trip was worth every penny, and we have already persuaded another couple to take the trip on their next visit. We will certainly take a different trip next time we are in Tavira - and ask for the same lovely guide. Thanks for a memorable experience.

I don’t normally give such a poor rating on travel guides, but this had to be the worst tour of a city we have ever been on. It was a little over an hour. In total, the information we received was probably 5-7 minutes worth. The french woman that was our guide didn’t speak English well, so she just kept repeating the same info in different ways. We literally learned nothing except the Romeo and Juliette story of the river which was not explained very well and was repeated three times because I’m not sure she knew how to explain it in English. We basically paid to be driven around the city without learning much. I’m not sure if this person was filling in for the other two men (Jeremy and Joao) that are mentioned in the reviews. I’m sorry we didn’t get either of those people. We got a free guide book at the end, so I guess that is the only positive thing that came out of paying 50 euros. What a waste of time and money. So disappointed as we love tavira and feel we will leave the city without a true knowledge of this beautiful.

Really good tour. Determined to get a bit of culture in Tavira and learn about this very attractive 'city' - and Jerome delivered (very knowledgeable and spoken english was excellent). First time in a tuk-tuk too which was an enjoyable experience, went around the older city and the to the outskirts of the salt marshes and slightly beyond). Following this we used the ferry to Tavira beach island to spend the afternoon on the beach in glorious weather, eating our picnic, drinking our wine and briefly taking a dip in the slighly cool (!!!) waters. All in all, an excellent day.

An exceptional tour! Joao was so passionate about Tavira and its history. We learned so much about the area, historical buildings, churches and more. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the salt flats and previous tuna factories for smoking sand canning. Walking through time from 3 BC to today was such an experience as we could see so much history, from the boys and girls schools to the door knockers. 5 + stars for a guide who is kind, humorous and knows his stuff!
