This was such a fun tour. First he greeted us with a gingerbread cookie that smelled phenomenal. Next, we went to the Beer Museum, not at all what I was anticipating. Paul taught us different ways to drink beer. I am not a drinker, but when he put the apple juice into the beer, it tasted completely different. Then he added water and it changed it again. The last thing was an espresso type addition. That I didn't care for at all, but I do not drink coffee. But I will try the apple juice with beer again! Following that he took us to another place, I think it's name was Atles Hackerhaus, where we enjoyed food (sausages, sauerkraut, or potato salad and apple streudel), and very interesting conversation. He paired us with other Americans and we had a lot in common with them. Paul is a great host and I highly recommend his tours! He also took us on a tour of the Nymphenburg Palace, which I reviewed separately. Awesome guide!!

Paul was great & very engaging. Both my 18 & 19 year old enjoyed it. He gave us the history of beer. He pointed out things I had walked by & never notice. My 18 year old said Paul “was funny, very engaging, energetic, & informative.” (It’s hard to impress my 18 year old). We tried the beer the regular way & Paul’s way. We are not big beer fans but we all liked it Paul’s way. He changed the way I will drink beer. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

We had the best time! We did the tour with John who works with Paul. We had a tour with Paul earlier that day and had the best time ever. I want to brag on John though, and the tour we had with him. He was so incredibly hospitable, entertaining, filled with knowledge, great English, and over all a great guy. We sampled beer at a museum and learned a lot about the breweries, then went on to sample a great amount of food at another location. You should really do this tour and another tour that Paul has. My family (which there was seven of us) all agreed that if we had not done a tour with Paul and John then we would have missed a lot of history, architecture, and local culture. I highly suggest Paul and John for all your tours in Munich. You will not be disappointed!

John was our guide and he was exceptional. Charming, well educated, and very social. We had a great time with John. A must tour.

Highly recommend this tour. John was a wonderful tour guide. He was so friendly. Wonderful conversations, great history of beer in Germany and Bavaria. The beer was excellent as was the food. I would put this on your trip as a tour you have to book. John was exceptionally good. Great guy!!

I had booked this tour for 3 people on a Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, due to a weather emergency, flights were diverted from Munich to Frankfurt. Transportation, the entire airport, and the city were under a state of emergency in Munich. The tour guide was contacted as soon as the diverted flight landed in Frankfurt to inform him of the situation. He said he could not cancel and that Viator needed to be contacted directly. This was done that same day with all of the pertinent information provided regarding the state of emergency in Munich and the diverted flights etc. Despite all of this being well documented, they refused to give a refund. This is particularly frustrating since they were not out any money. Food and beverage is not provided until the tour shows up. In addition to this, the tour guide asked to combine the 1pm and 4pm tours so that he could maximize the tour (I’m sure time and cost played into this). This was not about doing what was right by the customer in an uncontrollable situation, but about making the money. Very disappointing. I would not book this tour and I would certainly be cautious about using Viator to book tours if they are not going to be more customer focused and reasonable.

The walking tour was wonderful, but I especially enjoyed Paul’s knowledge and obvious passion for beer. We thoroughly enjoyed his stories of the history of Munich, some of his personal journey and the unique style he has for telling the stories.

Paul was a riot but the tour inclded only 3 small tasting glasses and a sausage plate. We walked for an hour before getting the beer samples, then another 30 mins for the food where the beer was not included. Not what I expectec for the price!

Perfect combination of history, beer education, food and fun! Paul and John were great guides who were very informative and entertaining. Paul is very funny!
