We had a wonderful day touring Pompei, lunching at a winery on Mt Vesuvius, and then visiting the Naples National Archeological Museum. Our guide, Pina, expertly guided us through the roadways of Pompei, bringing to life the theaters, houses, and businesses that once existed there, and the people who inhabited them. After visiting Pompei, we drove up to Cantina del Vesuvius for a brief, but interesting winery tour and a lovely tasting of 4 wines accompanied by a yummy lunch. After lunch we enjoyed a drive through Naples then a very interesting and informative tour of the Naples National Archeological Museum where we were able to view mosaics, frescoes, and household objects recovered from Pompei and the surrounding areas.

Pina Esposito was a private tour guide to my wife and me for four days in March of 2024. Under her guidance, we toured Herculaneum, Pompeii, Villa Oplontis, the Amalfi coast, a vineyard on the slopes of Vesuvius, the city of Naples, the Naples Archeological Museum, and the Phlegraen Fields. Each morning we were greeted by both Pina and a friendly and capable driver for the day. Having the drivers gave Pina the freedom to focus on her running commentary as she had so much to show and educate us about. Her depth of knowledge as an archeologist, and her unapologetic standing as a true Neapolitan made her tours both engaging and informative. There seemed to be no question to which she did not have an answer. Her answers often yielded a greater appreciation and understanding of what we had previously seen in Rome and elsewhere. It was noteworthy to observe that, everyplace we went, Pina was warmly and respectfully greeted by the on-site professionals. Pina’s tour of the Phlegraen fields was a tour de force that took these “off the main track” sites and really brought everything together as a perspective on the long line of history and civilization in central Italy and Naples, and the peoples who have walked these landscapes before us. It was the perfect closing day for our tours. We highly recommend Pina to anyone seeking an insightful and enjoyable tour.

Dr. Pina Esposito is an exceptional guide! We had never spent time in Naples and her expertise in history and archeology made the city come to life for us. We hope to return and spend more time with her. She is not only a great guide but she is also a delightful person!

Touring Herculaneum and Pompeii with expert guide Pina Espisito is the only way to see these sites. She was so knowledgeable and was able to give so many insights into what we were seeing. She had anecdotes that were informative and used humor to keep us engaged. She was personable and pleasant and made the day so enjoyable. It was certainly the highlight of our tip to Italy. I would highly recommend setting up a private tour with Pina if you are visiting Pompeii.

My husband and I worked with Pina to expertly guide us through; "Naples Archeological Museum and Old City Walking Tour" "Herculaneum, Villa Oplontis" "Paestum, Archeological Museum and Bufalo Mozzarella Factory" "Pompeii, Sorrento Coast" Pina is a PhD archaeologist/art historian/philologist, licensed tour guide in Campania Region and a native of Naples. She is a subject expert with in-depth knowledge of the history, architecture, culture and impact of the Roman Empire on the world. We highly recommend her!

Dr. Pina took us on a spectacular 2 day tour of Pompeii, Herculaneum and other sites in the Phlegrean Fields. She also knew that we wanted to see important but lesser known ancient historical sites. So she took us to Cuma and also got us into the Piscina Mirabilis, which required calling someone that lived nearby to gain access. This was a highlight for us. I highly recommend Dr. Pina. She has studied Italian history extensively and has much information to impart. We're glad we learned about her and took her tour.

We greatly enjoyed our Pompeii tour with Pina. She brought the city to life for our family and 3 teenage sons. She was an enthusiastic guide and was a font of knowledge.

Pompeii was fascinating and having Luigi as a guide brought it all to life. He gave us lots of information about the site and how the ruins were uncovered. Recommended

We spent a morning at Pompeii then an afternoon at Herculeum with Pina. She also does tours of the museum and ancient villas nearby. I found her through Rick Steve’s Italy guidebook but you can reach her thru What’s App +39 3387634224. Years ago she worked on excavations at Pompeii. Now she teaches ancient history and Latin. You need a guide to see both of these places efficiently. Why not hire a real expert with perfect English, a great personality, who loves her job. We learned so much and it was such a pleasure spending the day with her. Money, time and energy well spent. She also arranged a driver at reasonable cost so that we didn’t exhaust ourselves in transit.

Dr. Pina was an incredible tour guide through the ancient city of Pompeii. Explained to us with great passion what life in Pompeii would have been like in the days prior to Vesuvius eruption . It brought you back in time. We also toured Villa Di Poppea the family villa of neros wife. She pointed out many frescos on the walls they are so ornate snd tells a story of their own. Would highly recommend Dr Pina
