Scott took us out to see the central Highlands along with castles, quaint villages, and various unique sites we wouldn’t have known to look for. While the package came with an itinerary Scott was able to tailor it to the destinations that were most interesting to us and even suggest landmarks that would better meet our criteria (within reason, I expect we couldn’t significantly deviate from the route). Having the flexibility to make adjustments and a dedicated guide really set this experience apart from traditional large group bus tours that we’ve done in the past. Then there comes value for the money. We got to see more locations than a group tour, we didn’t have to rent a car, had more flexibility in the agenda, much more comfortable riding accommodation (important when driving multiple hours), and we had our own dedicated guide with extensive knowledge. Hard to beat that value. Last, but not least, Scott was a fantastic tour guide. He filled the air with historical knowledge/stories, connected locations of the tour to pop culture (movies, shows, music), and was all around an entertaining guide. It isn’t easy keeping people engaged for 8hrs but Scott was able to do just that with enthusiasm and knowledge. Overall, great experience and would do it again.

Our tour guide (Scott) was simply fabulous! He was full of knowledge and kept us entertained the whole time. He was able to adjust our tour to accommodate weather issues, and personal preferences. We took our 8 year old daughter (who can be quite the talker) and he was so kind to her. We were worried she would get bored and brought things to entertain her- but never had to bring them out! She was fully engaged the entire time. We were able to squeeze a lot of fun in a day. Thanks again for a simply fabulous time!

It was truly a beautiful experience, the highlight of our Scotland trip. Scott was so kind, knowledgeable and funny. Our group had 2 kids, one almost one and the other one a toddler. As much as it felt like we were being ambitious in doing a day long tour with the kids, considering my younger one was out on a trip for the first time, Scott understood our challenges and planned the whole day so well, that we did not have any trouble, while we got to see the Kelpies, the bridges, lunch at a lovely local rustic restaurant, see a Castle. My husband managed to go to a distillery too!!! And in the end my kid was waiting to meet the highland cows, ans Scott made that possible as well. Amazing is an understatement.

TL:DR - Book with Iconic, Scott is the man, have a great time! Long form - We booked with Iconic on the recommendation from a friend who recently toured Scotland with their family of 5. Our friends had a blast and so did we! What you need to know: Pre-trip communications 1. We received a personal email confirmation within several hours of booking. 2. Will (owner) answered all our questions over email. 3. Will worked with us to loosely define our custom experience over email. 4. We received confirmation emails prior to our trip, validating our address and confirming pickup time. Day-of Travel 1. Our guide, Scott, arrived an hour ahead of our scheduled departure. (I know this because I saw him on the street while I grabbed breakfast) 2. Scott was a font of knowledge, with a radio voice to match the quality of his story-telling! And he’s funny! You will learn an immense amount of history while laughing your arse off. 3.You are signing up for a custom experience, not a pre planned route. “How do you know this?” You might ask…..because we asked to change itinerary during the tour. Instead of hiking, we went to a chocolatier. (best chocolate ever). Simply put, book with Iconic if you want a fun, personable, personalized, informational and memorable experience.

Amazing! We had such a blast. So informative and so fun. Was inclusive of my two year old who was having a bad day. Saw so many beautiful things. Much love, from Texas!

Scott was a terrific guide on our Scottish Highlands tour. He picked us up promptly as planned, was very knowledgeable about the sites and knew how to entertain us too! The day was full of great scenery, good shopping (that we requested) and a terrific lunch too.

Scott was an amazing tour guide and was full of knowledge and very engaging! We had three young children with us and he was wonderful to them and kept them engaged as well and answered their questions! The restaurant he took us to for lunch was tremendous! Thank you!!

We spent the day with Scott as we traveled into the highlands with many stops along the way. His combination of wit and knowledge, far exceeded our high expectations!! He was truly outstanding. When we parted at the end of the day, our knowledge of Scotland had grown, while at the same time we felt we had made a friend, we would highly recommend Scott as your guide for your trip to Scotland.

Gary was a fabulous tour guide. Gary had our group of six friends laughing before we jumped in the van to start the tour. His knowledge of the sites, Scottish history, and landmarks were excellent. He kept us informed where we were going, when we would get there and what we would see. He even made sure we knew how to properly pronounce the Highland Cows - a wonderful day!

Our tour guide Gary was terrific. Very knowledgeable and humorous. Enjoyed his company immensely. He adapted the tour to exactly what we wanted. We would highly recommend Gary for this tour
