Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

See, touch, and feel a unique transitional zone where the Great Plains meets the Rocky Mountains. This 738 acre park at 6,450 feet above sea level is diverse. It has hosted a vast array of wildlife, including trace evidence of dinosaurs. Spend time in the Visitor Center that houses exhibits related to the park and amphitheater, special event spaces including the Southwest Heart of the Rock Theatre, the Red Rocks Hall of Fame and the Ship Rock Grille.

Admission Included

Kenosha Pass

Kenosha Pass is probably the best place to view the changing aspens near Denver. It offers both an East and West trail option with gradual ascents to stunning views. Starting at 10,000′ the initial elevation gain on the trails make for easy to moderately strenuous hikes, all depending on how far one decides to travel on these beautiful segments of the Colorado Trail. Vantage points can be accessed about 1/2 mile up both trails offering views down into the high country plains of South Park and out to the Rocky Mountains.

Breckenridge

Breckenridge is a Colorado town at the base of the Rocky Mountains’ Tenmile Range. It's known for its ski resort, year-round alpine activities and Gold Rush history. The Victorian core of this former mining town is preserved as the Breckenridge National Historic District, running primarily along Main Street, with colorfully painted buildings from the 1880s and '90s housing shops, galleries and restaurants. We will stop here, have lunch and allow enough time for you to explore main street. Bring a good winter jacket, temperatures can be in the low teens to mid-50s depending on the weather.

Idaho Springs

Nowhere in Colorado is the state's mining history more obvious than in Idaho Springs. Gold was first discovered in Colorado here in 1859. Several mine tours give visitors insight into local mining history. Depending on time (and traffic) we will stop here to stretch the legs as well as explore the Charlie Taylor Waterwheel and the well preserved main street from the late 1800s.
