This was a wonderful tour. With a strong emphasis on the long history of Arles, our guide, Romain, walked us through the many Roman buildings and edifices spread throughout the city, which included the theater, colosseum, catacombs and baths. We were also provided in-depth commentary on Van Gogh's life in Arles, and visited the important places in his life's story. Although scheduled as a 3-hr tour, our guide extended it by an additional half hour to cover everything he thought we should see. I highly recommend this tour.

Romain was not only engaging but also knowledgeable and courteous. Our one-on-one time with him gave us an historical and cultural perspective that greatly enhanced our appreciation of the rich heritage this region. We were glad to have chosen this for one of our mornings in Arles.

The city is beautiful. Romain helped us understand not only the history of Arles but also the story behind the facts. He was well spoken and went at a relaxed pace. We enjoyed our tour a lot.

Romain was a fantastic guide. He really brought the Van Gogh experience to life for us. So special to see where he did his painting. Also enjoyed all the Roman ruins in Arles. Only complaint is that this is advertised as a Private Guided Tour. No where does it say it is a walking tour. But Romain very nicely accommodated us.

Wonderful old town all major sites are walkable Be sure to stay near the old Roman center If you are driving pick a hotel with parking. The day trip to Carmargue in late March allowed us to see many hundreds of flamingos and the famous white horses The town is much smaller than Avignon and much less crowded, so it was more relaxing to visit.
