Our tours are very flexible and we will tailor the day to suit you; some destinations we will pass quickly others we may see historical sites, browse a local Cotswold shop or even met a local. Some villages we'll explore the local church or show you some glorious homes. No tour is set and each day we adapt the day to suit you!

Impressive tour! We had an absolutely lovely time, and highly recommend requesting Mark when you book your tour. Here's why... We had a very comprehensive list of things we were hoping to visit during our time in the Cotswolds. Mark did a fantastic job hitting almost everything on our list, while making every moment seem unrushed and relaxing. We appreciated the little things he did along the way, such as taking videos or photos of our family, recommending the perfect deli for our picnic lunch, and giving my little one a shoulder ride! My husband and I really appreciated that he shared so much history with us about the Cotswolds, and simultaneously observed the children's needs and found things of interest to them. At the end of the day, my 8-year-old said she had such a great time with Mark and it seemed like he was a member of our family! My 5-year-old replied and said he was better than super great!!

It doesn't get better than this for personalized exploring of the Cotswolds. In conjunction with Eddie, we arranged for three personalized day tours that included sightseeing and activities. Our guides, Jonnie, Steve and David, were outstanding! Not only are they from the areas we explored, their in depth knowledge of the places and peoples brought to life what the Cotswolds had been and are today. Charming stories, beautiful scenery and so much to explore and see. Our guides were extremely accommodating with respect to what we wanted to see, how long we wanted to stay at each stop and so helpful in suggesting things to see and do. We experienced the popular villages but spent more time exploring the small, out of the way villages that were equally charming and picturesque. Having lunch at a pub, sampling beer and then visiting the brewery where it's made - these activities add up to amazing days. We also booked a Cottage Tea Experience baking class during which we made Banbury cakes, lemon curd, raspberry jam, etc.; we then got to eat what we had made along with scones with clotted cream (and you learn the difference between a Devonshire and Cornwall tea)!! We also participated in the cheese making tour at Brinkworth Dairy where we made several cheeses, got a tour of the facilities and of course, you guessed it, ate cheeses! Having had such great days with Jonnie, Steve and David we definitely recommend Cotswold Tours & Travel to anyone wishing to visit and explore in depth, the villages and life of this area. We wish we had spent additional days exploring but will do so next time!

What an amazing two days of touring! We spent the first day with Steve touring Stonehenge and Highclere Castle. Steve was very knowledgeable and the extra touches (a Stonehenge podcast and the Downton Abbey music) were the perfect additions. We spent the next day with Mark Element touring the Cotswolds on our drive from Bath to Cambridge. He even re-routed us when I explained that I was a pharmacist and he took us to the oldest pharmacy in England. What a great time we had! Thank you Steve and Mark. We will be back!

The guides make all the difference. I had such an amazing time on this tour with Robin. I also spent two other incredible days touring with Mark. Robin has such incredible local knowledge of the cotswolds and knows exactly how to make the day unforgettable. His passion for the area is evident and contagious. The cotswolds are amazing in its self but Robin brought it to the next level. After a few minutes of chatting, he recognized what I was hoping to get from the experience, but knew how to deliver it in a way that I could have never put together on my own. I also enjoyed getting to know Robin just as much as I did the cotswolds. He is a sweet man with a wealth of knowledge. Mark also has a wealth of knowledge for the area, but even more so for making it a fun filled day. We laughed together all day long. We shared stories, ate amazing food that he recommended, and I learned so much about England because of his depth of knowledge in history and how to bring it to life throughout the sites we visited (Bath and Oxford were our main visits, but also saw much more of the cotswolds in between). Saying goodbye to Mark felt like I was saying goodbye (for now) to family or a close friend. Genuine guy that is such a “people person.” I would never dream of using another company for touring the Cotswolds. I would also never dream of touring England without seeing the amazing Cotswolds area. Easy 5 star rating.

We have two boys, 12 and 9 years old and wanted to have a more private, laid back experience to where we could finish early should the kids get exhausted. We had David as our tour guide who was absolutely amazing! There were train and bus delays and he made the extra trip to pick us up to avoid the additional bus service, and made our day fabulous! He knew the area well, educated us on many historical attributes and even took us to a local fish and chips pub. We couldn't have asked for a better day in Cotswold and we felt David was incredibly kind and fun! We highly recommend them!

We had the perfect day (even with morning rain) touring with Rob. He is a fantastic storyteller and knows where to find so many hidden gems, having lived in the area for more than 30 years. Not only will you see gorgeous sights, but you will learn little tidbits of history only a local would know. This tour has been the highlight of our trip!

We used Cotswolds tours and travel to transit from our London hotel to the Cotswolds and back, and for a day long tour of the Cotswolds villages. Our guide for our private day long tour, Johnny, was a local lad who was so proud of his home. He took us places most tourists don't get to see, shared his personal memories and knowledge and became a part of the family. He booked us a great lunch in one of the oldest pubs in England, took pictures of all of us at his favorite old church, landmarks, brewery, cemeteries, and tourist attractions. He discovered our interests in antiquing and took us to a great shop for all of us to buy cool souvenirs. When we needed a bathroom break he knew where to qo as quickly as possible (important for a van load of 7 people of all ages). Our drivers to and from London, John and Robin, arrived on time were very accommodating, gave us a background and history of the area (without stepping on Johnny's toes!) and were very personable. We highly recommend them and would use them again for sure!
