Ruined 15th century tower house located within the grounds of Hopetoun House was used for the external shots for the family home of Jamie Fraser, Lallybroch.

Jutting out into the Firth of Forth, this "ship that never sailed", is a 15th century fortress used as Black Jack Randalls head quarters at Fort William.

Doune Castle

Originally the home to The Duke of Albany and the Earls of Moray now is one of, if not the most famous film locations in Scotland. Used for nearly all of the castle scenes in Monty Pythons "Holy Grail" and Elizabeth Taylors "Ivanhoe" it is now better known as the original setting for Winterfell Castle in the Game of Thrones and Castle Leoch, the clan home of the Mackenzie's in Outlander.

Royal Burgh of Culross

As this historical living museum is used as the fictional town of Crainsmuir, you can wander Clare's herb garden and around the towns mercat cross.

Falkland Palace & Garden

The village of Falkland fills in nicely as 1940's Inverness so keep an eye out for the ghost of Jamie..... Falkland Palace and gardens were the favourite lodgings of the Royal Stewart family especially a young Mary Queen of Scots who used to roam the grounds and one of Britains oldest tennis courts.

Sean exceeded our expectations! He shared his wealth of knowledge in an interesting and often humorous manner. His patience and understanding with the challenges of traveling with our toddler was remarkable and appreciated. I highly recommend this tour!

Sean was a great guide and my wife and I loved seeing where Outlander was filmed. One of the sites (Midhope) is closed on Tues and Weds so keep that in mind if you are booking on those days.

Wir sind von Beryl, mit einem bequemen Mercedes, pünktlich am vereinbarten Treffpunkt abgeholt worden. Danach holten wir zusammen Kaffee und unsere Reise konnte starten. Unsere Fahrt wurde begleitet von Beryl‘s Erzählungen und Informationen über Edinburgh und Schottland. Sehr informativ und dadurch, dass wir nur zu zweit reisten, auch ausführlich. Unser erster Stopp war: Midhope Castle oder Lallybroch. Weil wir früh gestartet waren, hatten wir Glück und wir hatten Lallybroch fast für uns alleine. Natürlich mussten wir alles bildlich festhalten und auch dabei half uns Beryl gerne. Der 2. Stopp war beim Blackness Castle oder für Outlanderfans: Fort William. Eine tolle „Filmkulisse“ am Meeresarm Firth of Forth. Weiter ging die Fahrt von Linlithgow über Falkirk, vorbei an den berühmten Kelpies, nach Doune. Wie der Ortsname so das Schloss, Doune Castle, oder eben: Burg Leoch, der Sitz des MacKenzie-Clans. Die Reise führte uns dann mit Hunger ins „The Woodside“ in Doune, welches Beryl für uns ausgesucht hat und auch sehr zu empfehlen ist. Gut gestärkt führte uns Beryl durch das Glendevon Tal, eine wunderschöne Schottische Landschaft. Das nächste Highlight war Falkland, oder aber: das Inverness in Outlander. Ein typisch Schottisches Städtchen, wo „Mrs. Baird‘s B&B zu finden ist“. Nach kurzer Weiterfahrt gelangten wir zum Dysart Harbour, welcher als Kulisse für: Le Havre diente. Ein kurzer Spaziergang am Hafen entlang und schon mussten wir uns leider auf den Rückweg machen. Beryl‘s Familie wartete auf sie und der Rückweg nach Edinburgh,zur Feierabendzeit, auf uns alle. Mit einem Kaffeehalt unterwegs, erreichten wir die Schottische Hauptstadt wieder gut und sicher. Mein Fazit: ein super Tag, vollgepackt mit Outlander, den Beryl toll organisiert und durchgeführt hat. Ich kann sie und TRIPorganiser Scotland sehr weiterempfehlen.

Wir durften eine durch und durch super organisierte und wunderschöne Tour mit Beryl und Sean machen. Es war nicht nur eine Tour mit wundervollen Orten, sondern wir durften auch sehr viel über die Kultur und die Geschichte der Schotten erfahren. Beryl und Sean haben alle Fragen ausführlich beantwortet und uns in den Bann ihrer Erzählungen gezogen. Sie gingen auf alle unsere Wünsche ein. Ihre Liebe zu Schottland konnte man so richtig spüren. Wir haben die Tour sehr genossen und sie hat uns sehr viel Spaß gemacht! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wenn wir wieder nach Schottland kommen, wieder eine Tour bei Ihnen buchen.
