We will explore the streets of Whitechapel, Spitalfields and Aldgate and follow in the footsteps of Jack The Ripper as we visit the locations of his murders and those strongly linked with him.

Durward St

Open for the first time in almost a decade, we will visit Durward Street and the murder location of Mary Ann Nichols

The Royal London Hospital

Where the first victim in the Whitechapel Murders died and where an investigation into a body part revealed terrible findings. Nearby we will see where the inquests into several of the murders took place. The Elephant Man also lived here during these years and 80 years later the streets were the home to the legendary gangsters, The Krays.

Henriques St

This still atmospheric street was the site where Elizabeth Stride met her end, the first in the infamous Double-Event night of murders.

Whitechapel Bell Foundry

As well as visiting this icon of the East-End, nearby we will visit the two locations where a chief suspect for Jack The Ripper lived.

Gunthorpe St

We will follow in the footsteps of Martha Tabram down this eerie cobbled lane. Sadly Martha never made it to the end of the street, hopefully we will & round the corner we will see where Emma Smith was fatally attacked,

One of the pubs most closely linked with Jack and his victims.

London Fruit & Wool Exchange

Dorset street itself isn't exactly here any more but we will visit the site of the murder of Mary Kelly and learn of its greater importance both in the Jack The Ripper killings and its wider legacy for police around the world.

Brick Lane Mosque

Now a mouse but in 1888, Brick Lane Synagogue. One of many in the area then for the growing Jewish community of the East-End.

Christ Church Spitalfields

See the church that played a pivotal role in the lives of the people in 19th Century Whitechapel and learn of the terrible poverty that was all around.

Old Spitalfields Market

We will pass through the very same market that was here in 1888 and right in the middle of some of the murder locations we will visit.

Petticoat Lane Market

This famous old East-End Street was said to be the place where James Maybrick stayed in the infamous Diary of Jack The Ripper.

Goulston Street Food Court

We will visit the spot of the only real evidence left by Jack The Ripper on the night of the Double-Event murders

Soup Kitchen for the Jewish Poor

Whitechapel was a very Jewish area and we will visit the first Jewish soup kitchen.

Mitre Square Garden

We will finish off just round the corner from our oldest Synagogue in Mitre Square, the only place where you can be certain you are standing exactly where Jack stood when he murdered

Aldgate Pump

As if Jack The Ripper wasn't bad enough for the locals, if your legs don't mind a small diversion, we will also famous the Aldgate Pump of Death!

  • We have earmarked this tour as especially safe during the Coronavirus outbreak due to generally quiet places that we visit where social distancing is generally not a problem. All of our tours are private so it is just you/your family and your guide.  To make it easier and safer for all concerned we would suggest starting this tour a little later than the usual time, perhaps around 10.30-11am which allows us all to miss rush-hour. We are happy to still come to your hotel to meet you but for the moment we would suggest meeting us at the tour starting point.  This allows you to arrive by a taxi or uber rather than public transport. Please feel free to wear masks throughout or at times during the tour.  Your guide will also have a mask with them.
