Romaneche-Thorins

The Beaujolais vineyard is more complex than you might think. We are going to honor the history of wine and the 10 Crus of Beaujolais. The meeting with a passionate winegrower is an obligatory passage to taste his wine and understand its complexity and its history. 1 hour drive between pick-up and the 1st attraction.

Terroir des Pierres Dorees

The Beaujolais region has several facets, one of which is very golden, due to its construction materials: yellow flowing stones. This golden stone, typical of southern Beaujolais, is made of limestone which, being tinted with iron oxides, takes on this golden color. Our visit is an exotic stroll through small towns of character such as Bagnols, Ternand, and especially the pearl of the Oingt region, ranked among the Most Beautiful Villages in France! The landscape is hilly, bewitched by the vines, where we mainly produce Beaujolais village and the famous Beaujolais Nouveau.

Salles-Arbuissonnas-en-Beaujolais

It is a jewel of Romanesque art. A small 12 century cloister hidden by the walls of the Church. Small but so pretty. We stop if the museum is open. (annual closure in winter) Here, we will talk about the countesses-canons and their peaceful life in Beaujolais. 1 hour drive to Lyon.

We loved this tour and was our favorite of the three Lyon tours that we did with Viator. Our guide was Tamara and we really enjoyed spending the day with her. She provided authentic and memorable activities. There was a heat wave during the time that we visited and she did everything she could to ensure that we were hydrated and comfortable. The wine estate and tasting was amazing and the lunch was extraordinary. Although the estate tour and lunch was extra (not covered in the tour price) we thought that they were a good value and were a highlight. Thanks to Tamara and her outstanding tour we will always remember this day.
