The castle is at the top of the hill that rises from the southwest edge of the city. It is situated over a natural rock formation and has been strengthened with three round towers.
Piazza del Plebiscito
Piazza del Plebiscito is the largest park in Naples, Italy. It was designed by Raffaele Viviani in the 18th century. , and is a popular meeting place for the city's residents.The name, meaning "Plebiscite Square" in Italian, is derived from an event of which there are conflicting legends. One legend claims that King Charles III of Naples was persecuted by his subjects for having converted to Catholicism, so he called a public meeting to decide on his future course.
Duomo di Napoli
The Duomo di Napoli is the most important church in Naples, and one of the best examples of Gothic architecture in Italy. It is also one of the country's largest churches, with a central nave and two side aisles. The cathedral houses the tombs of Charles III of Naples and Ferdinand IV of Naples. The design was commissioned by Charles to celebrate his marriage to Maria Amalia of Saxony, daughter of the then-reigning King Frederick Augustus I.
