The main floor houses artifacts from the ancient Roman basilica that originally stood on this site. You'll also find paintings of saints and relics, stained-glass windows, sculptures and more. The visit is just from the outside

The design of the building highlights its purpose. The main square, the base of the piazza, includes a series of arches which are topped with statues that represent: Michael and Lucifer, David and Goliath, Samson and Hercules. The Piazza dei Miracoli was designed by an architect named Matteo Nigetti and built between 1225-1250.
