What to expect
Piazza San Marco
The quadrangular square has a truly typical shape: surrounded by elegant buildings it is dominated by the facade of the church and convent of San Marco, from which it takes its name; in the center there is a small green area with trees, with a central statue surrounded by benches and, as in the Venetian square of the same name, crowded with pigeons. The bronze statue in question portrays General Manfredo Fanti (who died in Florence), a work of 1873 by the sculptor Papi
Basilica di San Marco
The basilica of San Marco in Florence is one of the churches of the historic city center, which dominates a crowded square and which acts as a reference point for the surrounding urban area. The church was originally part of the large complex of the convent of San Marco, where many of the most important representatives of fifteenth-century spirituality and culture lived and worked: Cosimo the Elder, Sant'Antonino, Beato Angelico, Ambrogio Catarino Politi, Fra Bartolomeo , Tommaso Caccini (known for having investigated Galileo Galilei) and, above all, fra 'Girolamo Savonarola
Piazza Della Santissima Annunziata
The basilica of the Santissima Annunziata is the main Marian sanctuary in Florence, the mother house of the served order. The church is located in the homonymous square in the north-eastern part of the city center, near the Spedale degli Innocenti and has been at the center of the life of the city for centuries.
Piazza del Duomo
Piazza del Duomo is located in the heart of the historic center of Florence. It is dominated by the bulk of the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and related buildings such as Giotto's bell tower and the baptistery of San Giovanni, even if the hypothetical line between via de 'Martelli and via Calzaiuoli divides the square into two sections, with the baptistery in the homonymous piazza San Giovanni.
Museo di Simbologia Massonica
The Museum of Masonic Symbology in Florence was created to convey to the brothers how habits and customs have changed over time, and at the same time to spread to the public the knowledge of Masonic philosophy and ethics told through its symbols, based on ritual and philosophical work.
Piazza Del Limbo
Piazza del Limbo is an ancient square in the historic center of Florence, which opens onto Borgo Santi Apostoli.
