Chocolates Perez

The origin and manufacture of chocolate in Villajoyosa dates all the way back to the 17th century when sailors practiced the coastal trade trading salted fish and almonds for cocoa pods. The very first chocolate factory was established in 1810 and there once was more than 30 chocolate factories in this town. We will visit the small family run chocolate factory of Chocolates Perez and taste the best chocolate in town! ***Sundays the chocolate factory is closed and will not be included on this day. Instead our guide will take you to a local bakery to try a local sweet**

Some lovely picturesque bays and beaches. Public transport very affordable. Stunning mountain views. Sea as clear as glass. Some very nice restaurants. Locals not so nice.

This tour is absolutely brilliant! The two towns that you go to are both amazing with their history, architecture and location. Alberto was able to really make the history of both places come alive. The stop off at the chocolate factory is also very interesting and tasty. If you only have time to do one tour while you are in Alicante, make it this one. You will not regret it.

Booked this thru Ali-Oli tours. After many tries due to the minimum people needed, we were added to a Spanish speaking tour. Alberto was gracious enough to add in English were needed. This was a great tour! The two towns were great to see and made for a full day. I highly recommend Ali-Oli for tours and especially this tour. Your guide was the best and the tour company too

The tour was excellent from beginning to end and Alberto, our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The chocolate factory tour was extremely interesting and lovely to then end the tour with some amazing chocolate. The old town of Altea was so pretty, has a very chilled out vibe and is full of amazing photo opportunities. All in all a great tour. Thank you Alberto.

Altea is a classic whitewashed Spanish village. Narrow streets, artisan shops lovely cafes and restaurants and great viewing points The main square is really lovely with the church as it’s centrepiece. A really popular and lively place with loads of atmosphere. There’s a great viewing point just off the square looking towards Albea and just below the square looking towards Calpe. Park at the bottom of the village and walk up to the top if you can. A great experience walking through the narrow streets and housing

We tried twice to book this tour through Trip Advisor and both times after accepting our reservation the tour was cancelled.

We visited to see the old town and painted fisherman’s houses. Parking was difficult but the underground on the beachfront was reasonably priced. Cafes and restaurants on the front were plentiful and good value. The old town had some interesting display panels and was easy to navigate around.

Alberto was a fantastic guide and had the answers to all the questions you were secretly thinking! Really enjoyed our time exploring the 2 distinctly different villages and the trip to the chocolate factory was a lovely tasty bonus!

Had a very enjoyable day with our guide Alberto. He was very knowledgeable and gave us all the information we needed to understand the places we visited. Prompt pick up and nice clean vehicle. Altea was beautiful and the chocolate factory worth calling at even though we couldn’t have the tour because of Covid. Did get to try some delicious chocolate and also bought a few things. Would definitely recommend this day out.
