    Marina was excellent. She was very mellow and patient, which was perfect for one of our elderly relatives on the tour. Her enthusiasm and love for mosaics shined through her descriptions and explanations of what we were seeing. In addition she showed us many other things along the way about Ravenna itself and it's culture. 100% worth the tour. We had an excellent time.

    We really enjoyed this tour and the history that we learned about Ravenna and the mosaics. Our guide was lovely and walked us into a mosaics store to show us the process of how the artwork was made. I would definitely recommend this private tour if you’re hoping to get an in depth look into the beautiful town and mosaics.

    All the mosaics were memorable thanks to the background provided by our guide. Although we had read much about the mosaics, we loved seeing them in person

    Rosanna (the guide) was a very good narrator (in English) and adapted the pace of the walk and story to our many questions. We vistited four places in Ravenna in 2,5 h and that was great. Really recommend the tour, it was a great experience!

    Silvia was a wonderful guide, she gave us an in-depth history of Ravenna and it's place in history. Then she described how each of the sites we visited, with their wonderful mosaics fit into that history. Also she recommended a visit to the city museum after our tour with her (which was included on our access ticket) and pointed out the 2 or 3 things we should look for there. A totally enjoyable afternoon!

    This is the Ravenna basilica with the largest mosaic area of the early Christian era; here the ghost of the Gothic king Theoderic still lingers, who stopped here and wanted the palatine chapel

    Dante's tomb and Quadrarco of Braccioforte

    Of all the famous Italians in the world, perhaps the best known remains Dante Alighieri, who spent many years of his life here and here he composed Paradise, at the end of his Comedy, certainly inspired by the magnificent mosaics of Ravenna and its atmospheres a little noir.

    Basilica di San Vitale

    This octagonal temple of the sixth century is a true hymn to life, starting from its dedication to the Holy martyr Vitale. Its dome, object of study of the greatest architects of the world, from Brunelleschi to Palladio, from Antonio da Sangallo the Younger to Le Corbusier, makes pendant with the perhaps most famous mosaics of the city: those that represent the emperor Justinian and his wife Teodora, muse of many more or less contemporary artists, from Gustave Klimt to Karl Lagerfeld, from Christian Lacroix to many other masters of style and refinement.
