Barrio Del Albaicin

The Albaicín (Spanish pronunciation: [alβai̯ˈθin]) or Albayzín (Arabic: ٱلْبَيّازِينْ‎) as it was known under Muslim rule, is a district of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. It retains the narrow winding streets of its Medieval Moorish past dating back to the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 1984, along with the Alhambra.

Admission Included

Barrio Del Albaicin

In this famous and peculiar neighbourhood you will have free time for yourself, one hour and a half approximately. Here you can go for lunch, shopping or simply strolling the streets.

Generalife

The Palacio de Generalife (Spanish pronunciation: [xe.ne.ɾa.ˈli.fe]; Arabic: جَنَّة الْعَرِيف‎ Jannat al-‘Arīf, literally, "Architect's Garden") was the summer palace and country estate of the Nasrid rulers of the Emirate of Granada in Al-Andalus, now beside the city of Granada in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain.

Admission Included

Alcazaba

The Alcazaba was a building used for military purposes. The first Arab constructions date back to the Caliphate period, possibly built over some ruins of a Roman fortress. In the 11th century, the "ziríes" expanded the enclosure, when Granada was the capital city of one of the "Taifas" kingdoms. Even so, the main constructions date from the "nazarie" period (13th to 15th centuries). At this enclosure there are also some Christian additions like the round "Cubo" Tower.

The Alhambra

The Alhambra (/ælˈhæmbrə/; Spanish: [aˈlambɾa]; Arabic: الْحَمْرَاء‎ [ʔælħæmˈɾˠɑːʔ], Al-Ḥamrāʾ, lit. "The Red One") is a palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. It was originally constructed as a small fortress in AD 889 on the remains of Roman fortifications, and then largely ignored until its ruins were renovated and rebuilt in the mid-13th century by the Nasrid emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar of the Emirate of Granada, who built its current palace and walls. It was converted into a royal palace in 1333 by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada.[1

Palace of Carlos V

The Palace of Charles V is a Renaissance building in Granada, southern Spain, located on the top of the hill of the Assabica, inside the Nasrid fortification of the Alhambra. The building has never been a home to a monarch and stood roofless until 1957. The structure was commanded by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, who wished to establish his residence close to the Alhambra palaces. Although the Catholic Monarchs had already altered some rooms of the Alhambra after the conquest of the city in 1492, Charles V intended to construct a permanent residence befitting an emperor. The project was given to Pedro Machuca, an architect whose biography and influences are poorly understood. At the time, Spanish architecture was immersed in the Plateresque style, still with traces of Gothic origin. Machuca built a palace corresponding stylistically to Mannerism, a mode still in its infancy in Italy. The exterior of the building uses a typically Renaissance combination of rustication on the lower level and ashlar on the upper. Even if accounts that place Machuca in the atelier of Michelangelo are accepted, at the time of the construction of the palace in 1527, the latter had yet to design the majority of his architectural works.

This is a great day trip from Seville to visit Granada and explore Albaicin and Alhambra. The tour was well organized, and the local tour group contacted us via WhatsApp the day before to provide essential reminders, such as the meet-up location and the need to bring identification documents. Petra, our bus driver (apologies for forgetting his name), and Alberto, our English guide at Alhambra, were both excellent. Petra shared relevant historical information and events during our journey to Granada. Our bus driver ensured we were dropped off as close to the sights and emphasized the importance of wearing seatbelts to keep us safe while on the bus. Alberto gave us an in-depth guide to Alhambra to understand and appreciate its history and grandeur.

It was a great tour, we had a great guide Driss and a wonderful driver Miguel. At the Alahambra we took the English tour with Ruth. She was a great, kind and knew lots of history of the palace.

The trip was great. Driss, our guide, was very good with the children on our tour and made sure everybody was ok. He explained a lot. Also Ruth, our guide at the Alhambra, was very knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time, saw great monuments and had good food for lunch with plenty of veggie options. Miguel was a very safe bus driver and the bus was modern and comfortable.

Driss was our main guide on the bus & in the Albaicin. Driss was outstanding. Alberto was our guide in the Alhambra and he was amazing keeping a steady pace through all of the places you go while providing a tremendous amount of historical information in English and Spanish. We were picked at the last meeting place around 730am and returned around 830pm. The drive to Granada is about 2 1/2 hours and they do a 20-30 minute stop at a nice rest stop each way about 1 1/2 hours into the drive. A full day which included a nice stroll through the Albaicin where you will have lunch a a very good restaurant and get to visit an actual Carmen house owned by painter Max Moreau. This was an outstanding tour.

It takes about 3 hours to get to Granada from Sevilla. Luckily there is a nice rest stop with food amenities and a huge restroom with many, many stalls! The city is breathtaking with plenty of options for souvenirs and eating. The Alhambra must have been my favorite place to see on my trip. It is amazing with its beautiful structures and gardens. Our tour guides were informative and knowledgeable. This is a must see!!!

The tour to Granada/Alhambra was spectacular! It exceeded my expectations. We had about 30 ppl in our tour. It takes about 3 hours to get to Granada. There is a pit stop to fro food and restroom break. No lines for the women’s restroom because there are so many stalls!!!! Maria led the tour in Granada while Carlos led the Alhambra tour. Maria led us on our beautiful tour of the city. Carlos gave an informative historical tour to his part of the group. I learned so much from him. Alhambra is absolutely stunning. He was very humorous and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour!!!!

Magnificent place to experience once a lifetime. Arrangements were excellent. The guide Luka was great. In Alhambra it was a bit too fast pace led by their guide in that heat. I did not appreciate very much sideways to see a fancy Hotel because then we had to rush. Anyway the experience of beauty of Alhambra remains in my heart forever.
