Tapas restaurants surround the city. You can try that on your own without the time consuming tour. The Flamenco show can be seen as a stand alone or not at all.

Great tour thanks to our guide Gianni we had a great time. Don’t know why it asks me to write at least 100 words. Don’t know why it asks me to write at least 100 words.

Our tour began with our members congregating together looking for our tour guide. He was there, just not ready for us. He took us to the Gothic Quarter where he gave local history. My wife and an elderly man had trouble walking and our tour guide was frustrated with us being so slow walking and taking photos. While in the Gothic Quarter a parade was going on and a folk art cultural street dance. We had to force our tour guide to get off script to go see these attractions. He was only wanting us to hear his scripted tour. The celebration in Barcelona was something to see. We all enjoyed the street dance with or with out him. We also walked close enough to the parade to see the Giant Bobble heads. We then went around and looked at other amazing sites. We were waiting for the Flamenco show and dinner. I think everyone was under the impression this would be dinner theater. It was not. We had to buy our own drinks and watch the 45 min show. They were good production, but just ok. We were then taken far away in the rain to a bar to eat tapas. This was a dive bar. We had just passed multiple restaurants and out door cafes with ambiance. We were disappointed to be taken to a back alley bar. The bar had a live rock band, there was no where to sit down, it was crowed, and we had no reservation. The manager finally took us to a top room to eat tapas. We were given a drink and a small portion of tapas. The group asked for more food and the guide said no this is all you get. On a prior tour, I had way better tapas and plenty of it. The tour guide wouldn't even set with us. Another tourist bought him a drink to break the ice. Then it was time to go. He dumped us in the middle of a dark courtyard in the rain near Las Ramblas street. This area in Texas is the equivalent to Deep Ellum Dallas or Austin 6th Street. We were afraid we would get mugged. There finally was a taxi and we ran over to get it. We ended up giving it to the elderly couple so they could get out of the rain. Before they could get in the car another couple took the taxi. They asked if he would take them back to at least a area where they could catch a taxi. He said no, just walk up the street and you will see them. So we are walking up Las Ramblas in Barcelona in the middle of the night with my two teen daughters, wife, elderly couple and another couple. We had trouble finding a taxi. This is not a safe area to be in at night. Even in the day this area is a pick pocket capital. We caught a taxi and went home hungry. I had a great tour the day before, so I know he could have done much better. I think he was given a budget to spend so he took us to the least expensive places to eat and watch the show.

Fun hour watching energetic Flamenco dancing, then tapas afterwards. Hard to find the gathering location, but locals helped us get there in time.
