Azienda Agricola Villa Simone
The company has a family tradition that began in the Marche region and then continued in the Frascati area when in 1982 Piero Costantini bought the vineyards of Bishop Pallotta in Monte Porzio Catone with the intent of producing a wine of high prestige. To date, the company is owned by Lorenzo Costantini, a renowned winemaker who is passionate about Lazio wines. Lorenzo believes in Frascati and its enormous potential, he believes that the land of the Castelli Romani, makes the wines produced in this area unique and that the climate favours the perfect ripening of the grapes; the pedoclimatic suitability finds its highest expression in the cultivation of the native variety par excellence: Malvasia Puntinata (or Lazio). The aim is to produce a Frascati with 80% of Malvasia del Lazio to give life to a unique and typical wine of the territory.

Frascati
Frascati is one of the most renowned towns of roman castles and documents of the 9th century (Liber Pontificalis) describe Frascati as a small urban agglomeration but after the destruction of Tusculum, 1191 a.D., ancient roman, the resident population increased and the seat of the diocese moved from Tusculum to Frascati. The name of the city perhaps derives from a local tradition in the use of branches as timber or from their use to build makeshift shelters after the destruction of Tusculum. The most modern tradition associates the name with the custom that the wine sellers had of hanging a vine branch outside their stores to announce that the wine from the last harvest was ready to be sold.
Appian Way (Via Appia Antica)
The first autostrada, freeway, of the world, connecting Rome and Naples and then even the south-est of Italy. Opened up by the Roman Magistrate Appio Claudio Cieco in 312a.C. is nowadays a wonderful archaeological area full of remains of ancient tombs and aristocratic countryside residences.
