My family, and a group of friends enjoyed some days in the Algarve last May , and this experience is the one that will stay in our hearts and memories for a long time, to say it was an excellent and informative boat ride around the Rio Formosa natural park is an understatement. We went for the 6 hour private tour, me, my wife, my two kids (aged 14 and 17), along our friends, 16 people in total. We contacted directly with Daniel, the “one-man show,” who was very prompt in responding to my emails. He was cordial, accessible, and immediately made us feel relaxed and excited. Daniel warmly welcomed us aboard his boat “Venture,” instantly breaking the ice for everyone with his vivid and humorous safety briefing. He explained everything in his perfect “American” accent. The weather was fair when we started in the morning but that was about to change. We went close to one of the oyster fields where Daniel explained the process of growing them, and some of us had the chance to taste them fresh from the water. We also observed various bird species up close in the clam farms. Throughout the journey, our lively skipper kept us entertained with his explanations and incredible sense of humor. He shared a wealth of relevant information about the historical significance of Olhão, its culture, the fisheries, the wildlife of Ria Formosa, the birds, and the importance of the ecosystem for both the local residents and all of us. Ria Formosa is a stunning place with dazzling views and a natural sense of peace. The way Daniel shared his knowledge was reminiscent of a cool high school teacher, and our kids absolutely loved it. In fact, everyone on board enjoyed his storytelling. The boat wasn’t fast, but time seemed to fly by. It didn’t feel like being on a boat most of the time; rather, it felt like visiting the natural park in a big, comfortable living room that glided through a beautiful and serene landscape. It was peaceful, stable, and sprinkled with delightful surprises and features that were “more than meets the eye” 😉. We stopped at Culatra Island, for a visit and a snack The skipper’s boat handling and maneuvering skills were superb. The man singlehandedly and without any drama, docked this 6 ton giant gently in various places, including pontoons, piers, and even “landing” directly onto a sand beach as if it were easy and effortless. All the while, as he continued to educate us about the tidal dynamics of the area and the importance of the island’s plants (bushes), “docking” as if it were the easiest thing In the world. Let me tell you, as a boat owner myself owner of a 60-footer, it is not easy, It requires a massive amount of experience, confidence and skill, especially in those conditions with winds up to 20 knots and strong currents that day. Against my fears and expectations, in no time, we were all safely on the sand, enjoying a swim in the crystal-clear waters of the ocean. There wasn’t a soul to be seen for more than a mile, an idyllic desert beach, a paradise, shame the wind and all the sand flying. We left the "Venture" with a great experience to remember and share, new knowledge, relaxation, good vibes, and a strong desire to come back. Daniel the “one man show” made this journey unforgettable and magical for all of us. A man who understands his audience, intelligent, dexterous and a true polymath, but also well spirited, warm-hearted, respectful, and confident in what he does. Everyone on board felt safe, dry and welcomed at all times, everything felt natural and genuine. We loved everything, the boat, the information, the sights, the attention, the fun and laugh we had, a really good time Daniel, we wish you all the success and happiness. What an amazing day we had thanks to Daniel. We spoke before the trip as Daniel wanted to know what we wanted from our boat trip. He made the day so special & has a very relaxed & welcoming manner. We had great fun along the Ria Formosa, listening to lots of information about the wildlife, the history of the islands etc. We dropped anchor for the kids (& adults) to jump off & have a swim. We then went to Isla Deserta for a walk along the beach. We also finished the trip off at almost sunset as the sand banks were appearing, again the kids jumped off. The boat is fabulous & so spacious for a group of friends & family to enjoy a day out. He has a very clean toilet onboard & there is WI-FI & a Bluetooth speaker which we connected to & danced all the way back to Olhão I would thoroughly recommend going on Daniel’s boat for a day out to remember. . Our group of 14 people ages from 6 to 70’s among family and friends went on this wonderful private tour with Slow Life Tours, and I can’t recommend highly enough. Definitely the highlight of our vacation in the Algarve this year. Daniel and Paulo made us feel like their family, welcomed and pampered. If it’s a genuine experience your looking for, this is the one. We went for the 6 hour with barbecue and it far exceeded our expectations, everything was excellent, Paulo is a great cook and the food was amazing, in quantity, quality, variety and the flavor…still can taste it! The knowledge both of them have about the natural Park of Ria Formosa is impressive. The Ria Formosa it is not very know, from what we could understand, but it is a paradise on earth, natural, full of history and life with breathtaking views. Paulo and Daniel are great storytellers with a great sense of humor they kept us entertained and interested all the time in the right measure. Venture, the boat is super spacious, stable and comfortable for a big family to spend a day in the water with no worries at all, toilet, sunshade, solarium, you name it, they have it! They take care of everything for you at Slow Life Tours. We had the opportunity to taste oysters directly from the farm, also saw the clam farmers working. We also did some snorkeling and found sea horses in about 1.5m of warm water, my kids had a blast with all the marine life. We visited the island of Culatra and it’s typical village and also a desert beach with crystal clear waters. We jumped from the boat, we listened to good music, we danced, we had real fun with real local people. And for that very special day that we will remember forever, we thank you guys Daniel and Paulo for this wonderful experience with Slow Life Tours.

Nous avons fait une visite de Ria Formosa en bateau avec nos amis et notre famille, c'était super! Nous avons passé un très bon moment. Daniel et David sont géniaux, ils se sont adaptés à notre rythme et à nos souhaits, nous avons pu plonger depuis le bateau, puis nous nous sommes arrêtés sur une île avec un village de pêcheur, et enfin nous avons terminé en bateau par une baignade sur l'île déserte. Een geweldige dag op de prachtige Ria Formosa gehad, alles was tot in de puntjes geregeld! Fijne en super ruime boot, top crew met interessante uitleg over het natuurgebied en de omgeving en de meest mooie en rustige strandjes om te verkennen. Je waant je daadwerkelijk in de Caribbean hier, het voelt als een paradijsje! Al met al, een 5 sterren ervaring! Zeker een must do om te doen tijdens je vakantie in de Algarve.
