Seriously!!! If you want to travel like a local, you need to do this tour! Alec has been living in Hawaii for over 30 years and knows this road to Hana inside and out. The amount of information and detail he provides also makes this an amazing experience. We recently did this tour celebrating our Honeymoon, and it did not disappoint. Alec made our trip so special while guiding us through the forest but also allowing us to have special moments together. His energy and presence made our trip, and we would highly recommend going with a guided tour vs. doing this adventure on ur own!!! The roads are a bit sketchy but driving with Alec made us feel 100% safe!!! 🥰🫶🏼 Best Tour in Maui!!!!! 🌺 Aloha!!!!

I cannot say enough amazing words about our Road to Hana adventure today with Alec! He made my husband, my brother and myself feel right at home in his Jeep and brought us to the absolute most BEAUTIFUL locations, took a million photos and videos for us, made me personally feel like a princess at how well he looked after me and helped me hike through the jungle and waterfalls.

If you want an off the beaten path tour of the road to Hana then this tour is for you. Bring your water shoes & a towel! Alec was our guide & he knows the road like the back of his hand. He took awesome pictures & video for us & was super knowledgeable & friendly. You'll see waterfalls that most tourists miss. Highly recommend!

Amazing tour! Alec was so fun and a great guide. He drove us in his Jeep Silverado to all the spots that only a local would know, including a ton of beautiful hidden waterfalls, a cave, and some cool historical irrigation canals. He took great photos and videos of my husband and me. We also got incredible banana bread at Mrs. Sandy’s. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone! Make sure to bring water shoes and sunscreen.

We absolutely loved the private tour of the road to Hana. Our tour guide Alec was awesome! He knew that road like the back of his hand. You’ll be taken to places that other tourists don’t go to. Our favorite part was walking through the bamboo forest and learning about the irrigation system that the Chinese built. You are guaranteed to get amazing pictures on this tour that you won’t get by taking the standard bus tours. If you’re looking for a tour that’s off the beaten path, then this one’s for you!

We decided it would be more enjoyable for our two couples to do a private tour than to ride in a bus with many others or try to do the drive ourselves, so we hired Jungle Tours Maui. Great choice that we did not regret. Our driver, Alec picked us up in Kannapali right on time at 7AM. Alec is a longtime resident of Maui and knows the Road to Hana like the back of his hand. Hana is not a destination, it is a journey and we experienced many hidden stops along the way that made for unforgetable experiences and memories through the coolest videos and photos. Alec has a way of stopping the jeep, asking one person to stand up and then preparing us to video a beautiful vista. He also stopped where others didn't and showed us how to safely navigate toward bamboo forests and unseen waterfalls. His knowledge of the region is vast and we enjoyed the many tales and factoids about bamboo, water flow from the rainforest, history of construction and the why behind it all. One other great thing about Alec is his love of music and the conversations we had as we drove along. We highly recommend going this route instead of trying to do it yourself or go with the crowds.

Alec was an amazing guide. He was extremely knowledgeable on Hawaiian culture and the history of the Road to Hana. He took us to some hidden waterfalls outside of the touristy ones. Those falls were our favorite. We highly recommend this personalized tour!

We had a blast on this trip! Alec was amazing, very flexible, we preferred to meet him near the Ocean Center, so we had more time to spend visiting places we, otherwise wouldn't even be aware existed! He knows the island and the entire road to Hana inside out, and at the majority of places, we were the only ones there. Red Sand beach was closed. Instead, he brought us to another red sand beach, which was equally stunning. Each trip is different and customized to exactly what you want to see. He knows the places to stop, eat, and see. The food was delicious. We loved the open air Jeep and the ability to film while standing on the seat! Alec is a very talented photographer and took AMAZING photos and videos for all of us at unique angles! The adventure down towards the waterfall pool would have never happened without the guide! Many paths are treacherous, and the ones that are not are full of tourists. Our family was the only one on that not so easy path, but it was so worth the effort to watch 3 waterfalls coming down to one large pool we swam in! It truly was the best tour we ever had!! If you want a unique perspective, customized specifically for your family, this is the way to do it!

This was the most magical experience you can book on Maui. Alec picked us up from our resort right on time and crafts the exploring to your group. All of the stops we explored we were the only people there. It was an amazing adventure and so much fun! He also takes so many photos and videos of the group so no one is missing from the shot. I will be telling this to everyone I know that visits Maui! This is something that you can’t miss!
