Your Itinerary

Peebles

We will know this little town and we will walk for more than an hour next to the river immersed in nature and landscapes that protect it. Halfway, we will meet the Neidpath castle. Although today it is a castle where events and ceremonies are held, in the past it played a fundamental role in the containment of the English who roamed the region. Mary Queen of Scots, among other characters, visited and lived various chapters of history in this castle.

The Leaderfoot Viaduct, also known as the Drygrange Viaduct

We will make a short stop to photograph this viaduct as it passes through the Tweed River.

Scott's View

This was Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott's favorite place and no wonder! We stop to contemplate the landscape of the Lowlands that this viewpoint offers.

William Wallace Statue

Just 5 minutes from the viewpoint, is this statue in honor of William Wallace and erected in 1822. Under his watchful eye, we will review the history of the wars for independence that this hero led.

Melrose

This town houses the largest and most famous abbey in the Lowlands. Built from the 12th century onwards and due to its location close to the English border, this abbey played a very important role in history, resisting numerous attacks over the centuries. After a long background history, the heart of Scottish King Robert The Bruce, the true brave heart, was buried here. It was he who continued the legacy of William Wallace and continued to fight for Scottish independence. We tell you everything! Here there will be so much time to walk the streets of the town, enter the abbey and taste the local cuisine.

Melrose Abbey

Don't miss out on this abbey wonder that houses the heart of Robert The Bruce.
