My family and I had a wonderful excursion with Denise, our guide, and the rest of the staff at Ruby’s. This was the first time on a horse in 12 years and I was glad the terrain was easy. The sights were great and Denise’s knowledge of the region with little quick facts thrown in made the ride more enjoyable. The 3 1/2 hour tour was certainly long enough for me and mine. I recommend.

Beautiful scenery, and a great experience for a beginner. The riding instructions were easy to follow and the horses had a mild temperament. Thank you for such a fun time!

Our guide Wyatt was wonderful and very focused on the riders and pointing out the sites throughout the ride. The horses were very sweet and made for a great experience taking pictures from the top of horse left me with some of the best photos of our trip. Guides took the time to match riders experience to the right horse.

My wife and I went on this ride. My wife had never been on a horse before. The guides were fantastic. The ride was through absolutely beautiful country and the horses were super gentle. We will definitely be going back to ride with Ruby’s Horseback Adventures again and we can’t wait. I would give them 20 stars out of 10 if it would let me. We loved every second of it!

Excellent tour, but bring extra water! The guides were great, the horses are well trained and need such minimum guidance - it's perfect for a beginner.

Guides told stories and joked around making the ride enjoyable for both the adults and kids. Everyone from check in to guides had great personalities and made it so fun every one wants to go again soon!

We had very enjoyable horseback riding experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the horses were in excellent shape pretty easy to handle. It was a beautiful canyon ride.

I have so many reasons why I’m scoring our adventure so poorly. 1. Let me start by saying we started our ride out 20 mins late because one of the guides had to “eat.” 2. We drove 30 mins to the location which they included as part of the adventure as well as 30 mins. back. 3. One of the guides was a bit on the rough side. A little too old school how he spoke to us and treated the horses 4. At times we felt like we were being reprimanded and he definitely mistreated the horses in our opinion. One such time he used my phone to hit the horse in its head because it wouldn’t back up quickly enough for him. 5. The ride itself was very unimpressive once we finally did get started. The scenery was literally the same the entire way. With little to no information about the canyon or the area except for the 4 or 5 times we were told see that it looks like a cowboy hat or that looks like the liberty bell. Beyond boring. 6. Once we got back to the arena the guides horse acted up. Instead of working with it to the side or at another time he proceeded to correct the horse and we literally got dusted out for 5 mins. 7. We had to wait while they loaded all the horses before we could leave. It would make more sense to have the other wranglers do that and drive us the customers back to get us out of our misery. Unfortunately, we won’t be back and we made sure to tell our cousins for cancel their trip in a few days.

We have been all over the country (49 states total) and participated in many excursions including other horseback adventures. This excursion was by far the worst we have ever done. It is definitely the only bad review I have ever written for one of our many adventures. Here are the bullet points for our low rating: *it was very boring; one of the two guides told a couple of stories, but I was only able to hear most of one of them and the other story I heard almost none of it. The guides mainly stayed in the back of the pack or ride by themselves (there were 11 people not including the guides), so those of us in the front had a hard time hearing. *the scenery was boring; although we were technically riding through the red canyon, with the exception of a short part of the trip, the canyon could barley be seen through the trees. We were on a boring dirt trail. 15 minutes in I was ready to be done. *too long; all of the communication we had said the tour was 1pm-4pm. We arrived back at our vehicle at 5:30. We had 5:00 dinner plans that we ended up having to cancel. There were no issues with the ride that made things go slower, it was just very poorly organized and planned. The horses moved slowly for 4 miles there and then 4 miles back on the same path. * snarky guide; one guide, Kate, had a cute personality and loud voice, but the other guide, Ivy, had very little personality and was rude early on when asked a question about why a horse kept tripping. A more mature guide would have handled the situation better by kindly reassuring the guest by stating that horses will sometimes trip on the rocks but there is nothing to worry about. *the guides often were off riding by themselves talking instead of riding along side the rest of the pack- they kept commenting on how quiet we all were when they would eventually ride near us. If you have never been on a horse, are old, or you have small children, this ride might be a good time for you. If you have any experience at all with horses and/or you get out of your house much, you should probably skip it and find something more suitable. The previous day we hiked the 5 mile loop through the peek a boo trail at Bryce Point and saw another outfit guiding groups via horseback through there. The guides there seemed much more professional, and the scenery was much more beautiful. In the end, we regretted spending our money and the last day of our vacation on this excursion. It was very disappointing.
