"The natural swimming pools at Porto Moniz are formed by volcanic lava, naturally filled with crystal-clear sea water. The natural pools of Porto Moniz are the highlight of the village of Porto Moniz. The natural salt water swimming pools are made up of volcanic rock, into which the sea flows naturally. This space, with a surface area of 3800 m², has also a children’s swimming pool, a children’s play area and disabled access. In addition, the beach has a car park, changing rooms and bathrooms with lockers for storing personal items, a snack bar open during the summer months, first aid, sun loungers and sunshades for hire.

Seixal

On visiting Seixal village you'll have enough time to explore this area including the dark sand beach.

Cabo Girao

"It is the highest cape in Europe, at an elevation of 580 m, and is famous for its suspended glass platform. The Cabo Girão viewpoint, situated on the highest promontory in Europe, at an elevation of 580 m, offers a vertiginous view of the fajãs of Rancho and Cabo Girão – small areas of cultivated land at the foot of the cliff – as well as magnificent panoramic views over the ocean and the municipalities of Câmara de Lobos and Funchal. The viewpoint has been renovated, and a suspended glass platform, called a skywalk, was built. It is an excellent spot to practice paragliding and base jumping. Recently, the Portuguese parachutist Mário Pardo performed a spectacular motorcycle leap here. Nearby is the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Fátima (Our Lady of Fátima), built in 1951 and one of the main pilgrimage sites of the island." (visitmadeira.pt)

I went on this Safari a few days ago while I was staying in Madeira the views were just breathtaking would definitely go again, the driver was very friendly.

This was a great fun trip to take. There was only five people on the tour,and we were all called by our first names,so driver Silvio made it feel like a fun day out for all the family! Plenty of stops at interesting places,providing time for sightseeing and taking photos. Combined with the off road experiences,and shortcuts through tiny narrow lane ways,it provided something the minibus or coach tours can never offer. A great way to spend the day,and as it was such a small group it made it feel more like a private tour than a bus load of passengers.

Excellent jeep driver, showing us the natural rich places and roads of Madeira, driving slow and carefully on the rural roads. He shows and comment all the history of the visit different places and villages, and give us the time to visit and even try some original food and drinks of Madeira.

The BEST trip I had in Madeira! 6 people as a group are pretty private. And of course the driver is the super star! We had lots of laughs during the whole journey, especially after a few of ‘quiet’ rum at the half way. For the people who don’t stay too long in Madeira, this is the greatest option to view half of the island in one day (there is another trip to the east side if you fancy). And the experience in Jeep is amazing especially when going up and down the mountains. Awesome trip! Thanks so much for the company. (All photos were taken from the trip)

The trip was amazing, the drives was a nice, friendly dude. Beautiful spots, exciting off roading. All around took around 8-9 hours, would reccomend even if you rent a car, cause you cant go to places like this with a Toyota Yaris.

A pleasant and interesting tour. A stop at a local bar is excellent, just right for off-road driving, a well-measured time for sightseeing on the way. And of course the friendly driver John, with a good sense of humor and full of interesting information about local specialties and Madeira itself.
