Gallerie Degli Uffizi
Built in 1560 by Giorgio Vasari, the Uffizi itself is an architectural treasure, with its stunning ceilings, impressive architecture, and luxurious corridors and galleries. As you walk through the collections, your guide will talk about what life was like for a Renaissance artist, the politics and trends that influenced the masterpieces you are about to see, and the patrons and benefactors who financed these wonderful works of art. Enjoy the classic works of Italy's exceptionally gifted Renaissance masters, from Leonardo da Vinci to Raphael, Titian, Giotto, and Caravaggio. Your expert guide will be happy to answer any questions you have throughout the tour. You'll view world famous masterpieces, including Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Leonardo's Annunciation, as well as detailed sculptures and paintings that embody the power and might of Renaissance Florence. At 12:30pm or 4:30pm, depending on tour time, your guide will say goodbye, but you'll be free to explore at your own pace until the museum closes at 6:50pm.
