Santiago de Compostela
Santiago is a vibrant city, with an unparalleled mix of pilgrims, tourists, locals and students. In the historic district, the Cathedral and Pórtico da Glória are worth highlighting. Symbolic squares such as Obradoiro, Quintana and O Toural are also worth visiting. Dozens of churches, convents and palaces. Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque. And shops, bars, restaurants and a lovely market, overflowing with fresh produce. At 12pm, we suggest you attend the Pilgrim Mass, the highlight of the final line of the “Caminhos de Santiago”!
Catedral de Santiago de Compostela
Santiago de Compostela Cathedral is the epitome of Romanesque architecture in Spain. It is also the final destination of the various routes of the Camino de Santiago, followed by Christian pilgrims over the centuries when heading to the tomb of the apostle Santiago Maior. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985.
