Your ad was very misleading. We understood this to be a 2.5hrs boat tour vs car with only 7 people. Thr tour was poorly administered and the the boat ride was on an old deck boat with 50 people. Lights went out and the speaker phone didn't work half the time. Not worth the money spent

The bat cruise was excellent. The boat captain was great, knowledgeable, and very enthusiastic. The city tour was not as good.

Our tour guide was great but the bat boat tour was canceled abruptly last minute before it started. We were told by our tour guide Mike (who was fantastic) that we would receive a refund for our trip. I have contacted guest services and the tour operator and have heard nothing about a refund.

We enjoyed the history lesson while driving through Austin. Unfortunately, the bats did not come out during our trip so a miss that is the chance one takes. They are wild creatures on their own time table.

The drive around the city was nice and our guide Owen was great. However, we didn’t see any bats on the cruise and afterward learned that they only appear 50% of the time. Be advised.

Ok so it rains. I read reviews how crapy to service is when it rains. I thought well, let's book it anyway. It was going to be the highlight of my trip. I was so excited! As we were waiting for our ride I CALLED THEM wondering where it was. Well it had been canceled. "We texted you earlier today. The boat captan canceled" 1- no you DID NOT text or call. Our phones tell us that. 2- why was the whole tour canceled half of it was arising in a car! 3- if you looked at the weather, even on an app it would have told you that the rain would was well past stopping by the time the tour started. Very disappimted

Ride around aimlessly in a van; crowd into a tired old boat and sit in a plastic lawn chair like a sardine; see “some” bats; skip it!!!

This is definitely the way to go when planning to see Austin’s famous bats. Getting picked up at our hotel and escorted around town for a bit before getting to the boat dock was a great way to learn more about Austin. Mike was a fantastic tour guide! He was knowledgeable, kind, humorous, and managed time perfectly. He knew great spots for views of Austin, and answered all of our questions easily. The Captain of our boat (Robert) was experienced and knew everything we needed to know about the bats. Such a great tour. I’d do it again!

Mike was right on time and an enjoyable guide. We drove around Austin for an hour then boarded a pontoon boat with plastic chairs and a boat captain who “keeps Austin weird”. We saw a few bats but it was apparently not the huge event we hoped for. Apparently, August is the most flyable month for massive movements of bats. The view from the boat was ideal, and I doubt those standing on the bridge saw much at all. A bit “cheesy” but something we’ve wanted to see.

Courtney_F

We didn’t see bats but loved the tour guide who drove us around and also the one on our boat! Would have never known about the other side of Austin had we not bought this trip!
