The views were amazing. The weather was beautiful, just wish we would have seen more than 1 light house.

Disappointed. We have been on other schooner cruises that were way better than this one. First, the captain didn’t introduce himself, did not inform us where the life jackets were located, and didn’t point out any landmarks. This is a small schooner, 48 ft. We got out of the bay, and the first mate put up the sails. A gust of wind caused the boat to keel over on the starboard side so low that the water came into the boat. I was sitting on that side and started slipping down towards the water. Thankfully I grabbed the rope to pull myself up, and KC the first mate came right up behind me and told me that I’m safe, and held onto me. She’s my hero! If it hadn’t been for her I most likely would have gone overboard. Other passengers feel that the captain could have let out the sail, turned the boat, or maybe we should have had life jackets on in such windy weather. Anyway, I am grateful that KC was there to prevent me from sliding into the icy waters.

Boat was perfect for our liking. Only allows max of #14 people plus crew. Our sailing had 9 guests, including us. As others have said, we had Capt. Sean. He is the owner of this boat. As well as the larger Schooner Eastwind. Which he will remind you of multiple times over the two hour period. Would have been more enjoyable if he shared more about the area's history than he did about himself. But he is a big fan of himself so we heard more about his time in Key West than we did about Boothbay. Nothing mean spirited intended in this review. Just being factual. Kiley, his first mate, was very attentive. She was a treat to talk with as well as to watch work. Kiley gets an A in every way.

The sunset sail on the Eastwind was sold out, so we opted for the 4:30 sail on the Apple Jack. Captain Sean and mate Rebecca were great! We heard lots of stories, learned some local history, got to help raise the sails, and drink some tasty cocktails! The Apple Jack is a beautiful boat that is a tad smaller for a more intimate experience. Would do again in a heart beat!

We really enjoyed the trip around Boothbay Harbor. It was a beautiful day and the ship and crew were wonderful.

The weather was wonderful - a great day for sailing. Capt Sean talked alot, but about himself. We would have liked to hear about the area we were sailing in or about the history of the boat. Instead he talked about himself with one group. His helper, Max was great at taking the orders from his captain. When he was trying to make drinks for the guests - he was barking orders at him. Max deserved every tip he made that trip.

This is a fabulous sailing tour of the area around Boothbay Harbor. There is some confusion online about different boats owned by the same company and captain. Many of the reviews for Eastwind are probably for this boat, Applejack. Someone here left a review complaining that Captain Sean is overly friendly. I personally really like friendly people with many stories— so I thought he was terrific! There seems to be no category here for a small group of adults, but that’s who I was with, and we had a terrific time!

The Captain Sean was all about himself and continued through out the whole trip. We wouldn’t even had gone to the lighthouse if we didn’t ask. They did put the sails up and the boat was nice albeit still being fixed up. That didn’t give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. He continued to tell us how he just bought the company in November after he sold his business in FL. Casey was good with the drinks though. Neither one was forthcoming with any knowledge of the history or any marine life info. Not any thing that it portrayed in the brochure. Don’t waste your money unless you just want to float out in the bay and drink and listen about stories of the Captains life.

We had a beautiful relaxing sail around Boothbay Harbor. Got to see some seals playing in the water and all the beautiful scenery.

Watching a young crew work the sails and bring the schooner alive. For my grandson, this was a new experience as all of hid experience is with poor boats. Weather on this day was beautiful. Could have used a little more wind. That's Mother Nature.
