We had asked our travel agent to book us in for the Braemer Highland Games tour over 6 months beforehand. We were given 2 options 8am or 8:30am. We chose 8:30am. We booked our flights and accommodation to work in with this as it was SUPER SUPER IMPORTANT for us to go. We arrived at 7:50am to the location to be told that out tour was cancelled. NO ONE IMFORMED US. Personally. The 8am tour was still there but they had their hazard lights on. We were told that we could not board the bus because the hazard lights were on. We asked them to turn them off as the engine was not on. They would not turn off the Hazard lights. We tried everything to work in the tour manager. She was not going to work with us. I had suggested if someone was able to drive us to where they would have morning tea to meet up with the bus. The answer from the Tour Manager was NO. This is UNACCEPTABLE FOR THESE 2 companies to put us through this. We were left totally DEVASTED BY THESE APPALING ACTIONS BY Viatour and Highland Explorer Tours. Our whole tour was based on coming to this tour to start our Ancestral Tour off. We came to learn about our Scottish Ancestry of Leckie's, Buchanans and MacGregor Clans. So, this was a very big deal for us. I travelled with my mother as well, so this was important for her as well. We were given 3 options by the Tour Manager: Do Nothing (not a good option), go on the Outlander Tour (did not mean anything to us) or go on the Whiskey Tour. We Went on the Whisky tour and the Driver Guide really tried his best to cheer us up. We were DEVASTED BY THE LADY'S ACTIONS from Highland Explorer Tours (it felt like our hearts had been ripped out of us). The lack of care and understanding from her was obvious. We had flown from Perth in Western Australia for this. If we had known what was going to happen, we would have left Edinburgh and stayed another night in Falkirk and in Dublin. We had only stayed these two extra nights for this specific tour. If I were to book this tour again, I would book it myself personally and not through a middle company.

The games were exactly as I was expecting- fun! Braemar is a cute little town complete with ruins! Bonus: King Charles and Camilla were there! And Paul was a great tour guide and incredibly helpful.

In spite of the rain we really enjoyed the trip. Rich was great as a driver and storyteller. This is a fun trip, and we also enjoyed the castle and grounds.

This trip was great! Highly recommend. It was so fun to see the Games, and our guide stopped at some really nice, off the beaten path places on the way there. Overall a really great day trip.

Callum did a great job driving us to the Crieff highland games and telling us a lot about Scottish history on the way!

Calum was our driver. He was great. He had lots of info and stories to tell us. Was very informative and helpful. Highly recommend this company and the games. The games included races, caber toss, shot out, hammer throw, etc. Bring shoes to get muddy. No seating at the games. Might bring a blanket or towel to sit on. Food is available. Similar to an American county Fair, but Scottish obviously. The competitors are nice and will take pics with you. Overall - recommend.

Great to see Highland Games. They were amazing. Caitlin was a wonderful guide, articulate and amusing. It was refreshing to have a young female guide.
