Educational, fun and very tasty! A brilliant way to spend 5 hours. A return visit for me, and Dave was just as entertaining and fun of knowledge. An excellent experience.

We visited the distillery on Easter Saturday and had the Rum making experience run by David. The experience was absolutely fantastic David was very knowledgeable and the actual making of the rum and the tour was very fun. Would highly recommend it for anyone interested.

This was a great day and a great experience. Dave and Andrea were great hosts and made us all very welcome and explained so much about the history and making of gin. Their own gins are great and very different, and we had more than enough to taste. Obviously our own gin is very special. Nice lunch and based on their recommendation a lovely cream tea in the saracens head after. Have done other gin making experiences before (which are obviously great) what set this apart was the knowledge imparted from Dave in a great and informative way - explaining everything from the history of bathtub gin, to London gin and old Tom gin, as well as detailed tips on tasting gin - not as obvious as you would think. Really liked the approach to enjoying gin despite or with the tonic, or lemonade, sparkling water …. or just more gin. We are all guilty of just adding tonic without thinking about which tonic, or even how much. This was a great day and fantastic place to meet up with friends.

Had a great time learning about the history of gin. I bought the experience as a birthday gift for a friend and wasn’t disappointed by the day. From learning about the origin of gin, choosing preferred botanicals, having tasters of Nelson’s gins and bottling our own, the day flies by and suddenly you’ve waxed your own gin cork and are calling a taxi to take you home!

Given as a gift, my wife and I had a fantastic day. We have enjoyed the gin we made too and since ordered another bottle as they keep your recipe. As a tip, research the botanicals in gin you like to drink, you are more likely to end up with a flavour you enjoy.

Really good experience day very professionally led, we were well looked after and very informative the history just flowed from Dave as if he had lived it himself. A wonderful light lunch provided which had something everyone could enjoy. Nothing seemed rushed and plenty of questions were welcomed all in all it was a fantastic day.

We arrived at the appointed time and were met with a warm welcome and drinks (non-alcoholic). We then went into the learning area, with an array of information posters, books, a bar and a mini still per couple. Each couple were invited to talk to one of the hosts about the very large array of herbs and spices. The main presenter for the day, introduced as to lots of aspect on distillation and we visited the main still and area. After a coffee /tea, the “fun “ started and the preparation of each couples “herbs and spices” began. Great to see and hear about all the combinations you can have in a gin. Having chosen our ingredients, which we noted for future use, an excellent and “plentiful lunch was served, with “tasters” and our own distillation was stared. Had lovely time talking about lots of different gins/rums etc and history of the production. On completion of our distilled product was, bottled and refined by the “Master Distiller” to ensure legal requirements then sealed with certification. It was a great day and everyone said how much they had enjoyed the whole process. Went back to our hotel, by taxi, with our own gin plus a few other items from the bar/shop. Highly recommended outing for adults.

I went to the gin school with my partner for our 3rd anniversary as we both love gin and I had been before several years ago so I had high expectations. Since my last visit the course has been revamped and revised to offer much more in terms of information and trivia around the birth and growth of gin. I was even more blown away by this experience than I had been on my last visit. We both came away with a fabulous amount of fun information, lots of fabulous memories and two bottles of gin which we had created ourselves (I did say we both love gin so we didn’t share a still). I will happily visit again (and again… and again)

Having experienced the gin making and seeing the passion that Nelsons have for their product, I now regularly buy my Gin from them and would recommend them to all that are lovers of gin. The new relationship with endorsements by well known chefs only confirms my belief this is a unique and great contributor to the UK market.
