Michael our guide gave us a great insight to prison life as a screw (lol) and an inmate. Even the dog liked it. Lol. He was very open to us all interacting with him and asking as many questions as you liked. Well worth the money and would advise any age group to go and experience it.

Great tour with Prison Officer Graham. Graham made it interesting and fun. Learnt so much more than just wandering around ourselves. Our tour was even more special as there was only us two on it!! Personal service. Highly recommend.

Visited with my wife in early May, on the way to an overnight anniversary stay. After booking in, we were met in the courtyard by our guide; Graham, who was a retired prison officer (as all the guides are as far as we were aware) Graham took us through the various parts of the prison explaining the process from your first arrival as a prisoner and day to day life as a prisoner and how it has changed over the last 100+ years since the prison was opened. In between explaining the various parts of the prison, he told us various tales about some notorious prisoners he had met in his career at other prisons. The tour ends in the execution room, where our guide explained exactly what used to happen to the condemned man/woman. The prison is an interesting place to visit, made all that much better by having the guided tour, which I would recommend to all visitors.

A fun and informal guided tour led by Graham, a former prison officer who worked at the prison for many years. He was really knowledgeable and kept the tour lighthearted. Would definitely recommend and we had a delicious bacon sandwich and coffee in the restaurant.

Spent a few hours here with the family and had a much better time than anticipated. This prison has lots of history dating back centuries and has only closed recently stopped housing prisoners (2013?). For the ghoulish amongst you there’s a haunted cell and the gallows along with printed histories of some of the most infamous inmates. Perhaps not that interesting for very small children but our 11 and 15 yr old kids were never bored

Charlotte was our guide, she was very knowledgeable and passionate about the prison. We learnt a lot and came away with a better understanding of the prison system and more specifically how Shrewsbury prison had changed from Georgian times to when it closed in 2013.

A large group from U3A travelled from Solihull for a guided tour of Dana Prison. All rated this experience very highly and in particular because of our very well informed and excellent tour guide Donna.

Fantastic guides for our ghost walk, sufficiently spooky and very well organised! Take a jumper as it gets a bit chilly, and a torch is useful.

A terrific afternoon tour from Donna showing us all aspects and stories about the prison. We did think about going self guided but it would never have been so good, informative and passionate. You go thru the entrance, the male block, courtyard, and the women's block. The tour finishes in the execution room. Harrowing but worth every penny. Please Go.
