Ned, along with a group of 7 tourists, strolled through the charming streets of Cortona, then indulged in delicious wine, meats, and cheese at Fattoria Madonna della Querce, which is Roberto's farm. We explored the wine cellar and enjoyed a wine tasting experience hosted by Melanie at Ercolani in Montepulciano before continuing their journey to Sienna. Although the tour was highly recommended, it is advised to make sure to include a stop at Val d'Orcia (from Gladiator), which was initially advertised but unfortunately missed on the day of the visit. Additionally, the group missed out on seeing the location used in Twilight. Nevertheless, overall, the tour was a must-do experience and Ned is the best guide.

If you want to cram lots in to a single day, this is a good way to do it. The driver was very friendly, but didn’t know much history. Also, there wasn’t really time for lunch, just snacks at the wine tastings. Lastly, it’s not really a wine tour, it’s a tour with wine. The first tasting was great in a tasting room… most people on the trip bought bottles; but the second was ad hoc standing in a wine shop which wasn’t a great experience. So it’s a good trip, as long as your expectations are aligned.

So glad I booked this tour, Ned was outstanding. He made sure we were okay and helped me in some places with translations. Also, he made the best of our time in each city. During the ride to and from places he gave us a small history lesson on the cities we visited.

Great guide Lorenza! He was professional, knowledgeable and passionate about all the areas we visited. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We also met great people. Gorgeous views!

My husband and I did the Siena, Cortona & Montepulciano day trip with Dom, and we were so impressed by the company, the spots we visited, and especially with Dom’s humor and knowledge of the areas and history. The ride through the countryside was beautiful, and Dom knew just where to show us the best spots in each of the 3 towns. Both wine tastings were fantastic, and walking through the cellar was a very cool experience. It was a perfect way to spend a day out of the city!

Do not miss this wonderful tour! Dom, our guide, was amazing- knowledgeable, friendly, funny, informative- made our groups' day perfect! It was a great mix of guided tour and personal time to explore what we wanted. 12/10 will book this again when we eventually come back to visit in the future!

Our tour guide was Julia and she made this an extra special trip. She looked out for us so we wouldn't get lost. You can tell she really likes people because she would ask us if we were enjoying the tour and offer to carry our bags of souvenirs. One couple brought their dog along and she would ask if the pup needed a potty break. The tour itself was amazing of course. Siena, Montepulciano, and Cortona are beautiful cities while not very large have so much to see. Expect uphill walks with plenty of churches and small museums. I enjoy traveling solo but this tour had a great mix of people who made it a great day. And it was nice to have someone else donthe driving so i could just enjoy the view and take pics along the way. Definitely recommend this tour.

I am so glad we listened to our friends who had done this tour the year prior. Italy On A Budget did a fantastic job of showing us around Siena, Montepulciano and Cortona. We especially enjoyed the wine and olive oil tasting in Montepulciano. We had them ship us bottles of both to the states. Our tour operator was friendly and knowledgeable and the ride was comfortable for all. We can’t wait to return and would definitely use Italy On A Budget again!!

This small group tour is a satisfying way to enjoy the Tuscan countryside and sample its wines without having to rent a car. Manolo is an attentive, courteous, and informative driver-guide, as well as a safe motorist with excellent taste in music (to pass the time between destinations). Siena was the first stop and, after a brief introduction to the history and layout of the city, we were granted free time to explore. I spent mine enjoying Sienese art at the quiet Pinacoteca Nazionale and photographing the exteriors of the cathedral and the formidable town hall before rejoining the group and continuing to the next destination, Montepulciano. You'll want sturdy walking shoes for hilly Montepulciano. We received another general introduction to the town before stopping in at Cantina Crociani for a wine tasting and light lunch. I was particularly fond of the 2015 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, and I purchased a bottle after the conclusion of our tasting. The group were then granted another hour or so of free time to explore the town. The thirty minute drive to Cortona is quite lovely, and we arrived at a serendipitous moment -- a local civic parade of some sort was setting off from the car park, and several of us followed the participants up the winding main street to a city square where a crossbow competition ensued. Our hour in Cortona passed by quickly (I enjoyed it best of the places visited), at which time we headed back to Florence (with a short stop to view the exterior of the mansion used in exterior shots in the film "Under the Tuscan Sun").

This tour was simply amazing. The guide was great at telling us facts and details about all three cities and in general was very personable. We loved the free time in each place however we do want to mention it is a very long day. The wine tasting was amazing, but the "light lunch" is bread and cheese. You also do not have much time in each place to get any food, so be aware of that! This was the best part of our trip to Florence and would recommend to everyone!
