    Joao is an amazing gudie, having grown up in Sinatra he knows the town, monuments and historical figures exceptionaly well. Be ready for a walk but he tailors the tour depending on your interests (and tiredness) which is much appreciated.

    John had a wonderful wide ranging knowledge of the history, geography, and culture pertaining to this area. We walked at a pace comfortable for our age and had a very memorable time. I could not recommend the walk more highly.

    Joao is the best kind of tour guide. He's passionate about the local history for Sintra, the place he grew up, and very personable. Joao tailored the tour for us in a way that made it both comfortable and extremely interesting. Best of all, we were able to get away from the crowds and explore the exceptionally beautiful gardens of the Pena Palace and the Regelaria. If you're up for a hike, this is the way to go.

    We didn't realize how much we would have missed without João. His English is better than any guide we'd met yet in Portugal and his knowledge of the area was phenomenal.
